=RS=Stix_09 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 (edited) You might find this topic useful info, (see my posts about getting these tutorials to work). (PzUmurkz post works too) This guide and tutorial files need to be updated to work with new engine (minor changes) It's based on a 2015 version of the game engine and editor. PS I don't know how to get this pinned topic updated.... Edited October 13, 2018 by Stix_09

NO.20_W_M_Thomson Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Hey Gents, I've been trying to open Velikiye Luki template to follow this tutorial but it seems to just hang for ever. Is there a newer version I can open?
Sketch Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Open the Editor and go to Tools -> Resave All Missions in Folder -> Select the folder where the Luki template mission is and let it run through it's process. You should be able to open the mission after it goes through that update. 1

NN_Elanion Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 (edited) Edit: Search complete: I found the v 1.1 version of Prangster and a partial version v 1.1 translated into French. Prangster's link is no longer active. Can someone share (download link) his guide? It is very useful to me and I lost it during an installation of windows 11................................ Good flight. Edited May 7, 2022 by NN_Elanion

Roshko Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 I get an "Error reading mission file!" when trying to open the template (also when trying to open the finished file) Anything I can do about that?
Sketch Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Try opening the .msbin file instead of the standard mission file. To do that, type *.* in the search box of the open mission dialog box. Then locate the .msbin file and see if that will open.

I had the same problem but running the mission resaver in the mission editor allowed me to open them. --------------------------------- Now here is one that made me scratch my head until I opened the finished tutorial mission. On page 12 I am told to put a fake airfield icon in grid 123 but no such grid exists on the Velikiye Luki map since it stops at Grid 0117. I thought it might be a typo so I looked for an airfield in GRID 0213. Again no luck. That was when I remembered the finished tutorial mission and I went looking for the fakefield icon on it. I found the 109G2 fake airfield icon in grid 0804 at the Isocha airfield by entering the XYZ position numbers in a Block object I placed on the map using the coordinates in the image from the mission building guide and the same ones in the image above. X: 30983.61 Y: 117.45 Z:36718.85 As you can see in the image below the block icon I placed on the map was near the 109G2 airfield icon. The actual Position locations for the 109G2 fake airfield icon are these: X: 31052.26 Y: 117.88 Z:36868.33 Not sure how many others might have been hung up with that minor niggle but it drove me bananas for a bit.
