These are good arguments, and I also hope the team optimizes the new series.

 

Here, I also have something to add: It has been said that performance would be more demanding: PBR, higher mesh resolution... etc.

I think this is something normal, and it’s progress. Even so, I’m sure that if GB works for you now, Il-2 Korea will work as well. Maybe if you have an extremely low-end system and are already having issues, it might not work, but that's to be expected.

 

This is one of the benefits of using an evolution of the current engine: there shouldn’t be any significant changes regarding how it performs.

And also, to be honest, I think it’s better to be limited by hardware and not by software, meaning the graphics engine. What do I mean by this? That over time, systems and hardware improve, and therefore we will be able to get more out of the simulator.

 

If we start from an outdated base, no matter what we "throw at it," it will be expensive.

 

So, I believe the requirements won’t be absurd, and I hope it becomes a solid foundation to further enhance our experience.

Minimum hardware specification of GB are from 2014 , I expected the max out from 2014 now would be minimal at least. It's a price for progress. If I need to buy new GPU/CPU to enjoy fully,I will - it's normal. Biggest question is that if software would give me optimal performance with top hardware. Worst thing would be that best available hardware would not give a optimal performance.

Often, old engines don't take advantage of modern hardware well, so on the one hand the new features will cost performance, but one the other hand you often see that your hardware gets used more efficiently.

 

For example, because the current VR implementation is based on SteamVR, we need an openXR modding app to get improved performance, because OpenXR uses the hardware more efficiently. And then we still don't get foveated rendering support.

 

So on the one hand these new features often cost performance, but on the other hand you can get some performance back if the new engine uses the hardware better.

Yes, here in my hometown we have very good flight weather right now. ☀️

We used to do it when we were kids/young lads and I've since seen old footage of RAF guys doing it.

We stalled a lot too in the tight turns, our knees and elbows took a pounding. No chutes of course, we were hard. 😁
