Honestly, horses (and some infantry) targets would make a lot of sense for strafing missions behind the lines. It really shouldn't be just trucks (afterall, even in WWII, most European armies were primarily moved by horse supply lines).

During WW2 most towing were made by horses not by trucks. Numbers of horses were by magnitude higher than trucks. Horses are underrepresented for sure.

True for the german army, where aprox. 70% of all divisions were horse drawn. Thats one reason why Falaise pocket was such a slaughterhouse. Untrue for US and UK forces, which were fully mechanized.

Horses and PBI aplenty in FC yes ... but would it affect visual fluidity, stutters and the like? If we're talking about guesses I was thinking an announcement on improved No Man's Land textures and FM reviews for certain WW1 kites would definitely make a lot of players happy. And then bring on the horses, troops, zeppelins, Channel and Italian maps.

Jason declared that the Great War is not forgotten. While he was referring to Scripted Campaigns, if the latter two are excluded then this misconception will continue that WW1 was for the most part a failed German offensive to capture Paris and only a world war because of America’s entry when it was titanic clash of empires all over the world.

This is exactly what I was getting at earlier when I said that I’m tired of the Western Front, let alone France being overly depicted in WW1 games.

I'd be pretty happy with two additional Collector Planes per year, and a reworking of how AI vision works.

 

I do think a few 'Normandy' style infantry units could be useful for detailing target areas behind the Front. Obviously, populating the trenches with tens of thousands of infantry isn't viable (most would be sheltering anyway).

That's a nice thought should the devs be kind enough to accommodate such a proposition. My personal suggestion for the first two would be two-seaters .... the iconic British Be2c (well, it's a must have innit) and the German AGO C.I. pusher. An innovative design for its day, and it's a pusher!

 

I should add the Aviatik C.I because it had the observer/gunner in the front cockpit similar to the Be2 but I'm getting ahead of myself. That's three crates not two. Nonetheless, good prey for the early fighters.

Some additional static block type targets would be really helpful here - some static infantry for instance - you could have bunches of them, with a few active units blended in here and there activated by check zone etc - that way you could give the impression of a big army in the field, with only a handful of active units.

 

Speaking of which, we could really use some static variations of the various BoN landing craft and ships to help fill the waters off the beaches.
