BoSFA...

The rush to Antwerp,  capture of Channel ports,   Walcheren landings, recco and interdiction on German retreat....

All on a map Autumn 1944 covering the gap  with Bobp... maybe a Seine to Rhine  ( or Paris-Bruxelles-Dusseldorf )

So far, there are a couple clear winners in the Next BoX poll.

It is important to note that forum members don't represent most of the people who purchase the product - so the dev's marketing data will likely be quite different (e.g. the Spanish Civil War is still unlikely even if a lot of forum members would go there). You can actually see the effect within these polls too - more frequent forum users tend to prefer more obscure stuff and people who check in once a week (or less) have less unconventional tastes. So it is always interesting to look at what takes the early lead and then how that shifts.

In any case, they will have considered both the market potential and research feasibility of a number of different modules - and made the decision months before the announcement. So any conversation that Jason et al would read would likely only influence the module after the next module (if it has any influence at all).

Radio silence, just like when the Japanese fleet sailed towards Pearl Harbor.

Or like when 4-engine bombers flew over Germany occupied Europe.

Have a nice day.

I can't blame the crew for being too busy playing Battle for Normandy.

After all of the grief he got about the Normandy delay, Jason might postpone the next announcement until... Summer 2024, when he announces:

The IL-2 Sturmovick team is glad to announce the next installment in the Great Battles series, the Battle of Sicily.

  or maybe even better

What else would you add to the Battle of Normandy to make it a "trilogy?"

@R3animate

I cant check the vid right now but is it the 262 with restored original jumo engines? A few years ago they were making taxiing tests with it.

You know, since the pandemic, I feel that many restoration to airworthy projects felt apart and thats sad af. The Me262 with 004's, there was something about a Stuka, that Yak 1 with an M-105PF, I remember also 2 tempests, a MII and a Mark V were being restored.

Barely any news about any of these for a couple of years.

In the timeframe of warbird restorations, 2 years is but the blink of an eye.

Oh well, if Jason won't say it, I will. There will be no DD update this week. I'm still in shock over Andrey's defection resignation. I loved that guy.

This may not be entirely correct however.

Not add anything to BoN, but in terms of a trilogy there could be Battle of Sicily which could bring some planes in for 1943 or early 1944 Channel Ops and also part of the BoN Pilot Career; the pretty much late war Western front trilogy would be complete.

Or, do a Battle of Berlin installment to complete a pretty much late war Western front trilogy.

I only have one thing to say about all this nonsense I’m hearing about Sicily, and Berlin, and Channel ops.

@I./JG52_Woutwocampe About the original 262 and Stuka, it was less about the Covid, but more about uncertainty of what would happen with late Paul Allen's collection and his projects, all of which were put on sale. Fortunately, the new owner is apparently an aviation fan, but whether he'll have enough spare money to continue these remains to be seen.

Unfortunately, I guess I should give you a +1 for making three separate movie references in so few words.

He’s a Walmart heir I think? Hopefully the project is in good hands.

I think this too.

As much as I would have loved to see the Pacific here, if it's not gonna happen, let's get over it and get on with what can be done.

i'm not only thinking about new planes and maps but also new features they could spend their time and resources on (radio navigation, fuel system, damage to hydraulics,... ).

Have a nice day.
