TP_Jacko Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 New multiplayer mission, Stalingrad Summer. A tank battle south of Novomaksimovsky. Tank spawns located about 3km from the next spawn. Spawns are capturable. There are AI units on the ground, and in the air on the German side. Airfields are 4 on each side: one advanced, two rear, and one special single-spawn that triggers an AI mission to attack the enemy's advanced airfield. There's quite a lot to do to disrupt logistics to the battlefield, bridge bombing, train station bombing, train attacks, ship attacks, supply convoy strafing. Plane set includes both BOM and BOS planes. Sounds an excellent mission Thanks
Shouwick_Junjun_Nikku Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Dear Mr. Coconut Even if I found no further evidences of your tank missions I'll bet its all about MP; do you mind a suggestion. Like...a single player tank mission in Lapino map with the Gui map full display of both Russian and German front line and names of fictional unit positions, example; (German) 6th Army, 14th Panzer Corp or 14th PC, (Russian) 61st Army, 2nd Tank Guard and finally 3rd Assault Regiment. Further more (If I'm asking to much "I fully apologies") can there be both versions: Russian and German sides on the singleplayer mission. I would be thankful If you can achieve the tedious tasks. Note: My reason for this madness is that my editor fail to work any further since a month ago, O.K. and thankful if you check reply!
coconut Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 @@Shouwick_Junjun_Nikku Whenever I think of an SP mission, I find it would be even more enjoyable to play it with a couple of friends, and I end up making an MP mission. I'm not too interested to do exclusively tank-oriented mission. To me tanks in this game are really just a way to have fun with friends, looking at dogfights from a different angle, or seeing a ground attack from the target's point of view. For these reasons, I don't see myself doing an SP mission where you drive a tank. I know Jade_Monkey and Veteran, among others, have made tank missions. Have you looked at them?
Shouwick_Junjun_Nikku Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Well thank you for responding Mr. Coconut, I really Appreciated your option and fully respected your interests. B.t.W.P.S.: Thank you for the new leads, I fully appreciated the help to find new and reliable leads. Edited January 10, 2016 by Shouwick_Junjun_Nikku
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Fantastic work and thank you for all of your time and effort Coconut! I am having issues loading the msbin files on the dserver. I tried re saving the missions using the tools option in the editor and I also tried loading the msbin files with the editor and get an error loading message. I had success with the rush.msbin file due to you mentioning the file structure of multiplayer/vliki/rush.msbin Could you please let me know what the file structure of the other msbin files was as well? stukasoverstalingrad volgabombing Thanks!
coconut Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 The format of msnbin files changed in 1.107. Since these missions are older, you have to delete the msnbin files and load the mission file in the editor instead. Then save it anywhere you want under data/Multiplayer and you should be good to go.
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Thanks for the reply, the zip files only had the msbin files and not the .missionfiles
coconut Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) I see, I'll regenerate the missions and update the first post. Thanks for your feedback, I would not have noticed it myself. EDIT: first post updated. Edited March 19, 2016 by coconut 1
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Thank you very much! I tried everything to re save them but with no luck
coconut Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 I tried everything to re save them but with no luck I'm confused, are you saying you still can't run the missions? Or was that sentence refering to the old mission files?
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Sorry for the confusion. Everything is working great!
Urra Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Coconut, does flak gun behave any differently in your opinion between "force complete - low priority" and 5km attack zone specified upon spawn for example?
coconut Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 They attack everything, including parachutes with force complete
Urra Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Thank you, should be fine as long as they leave the dogs in the village alone.
Blitzen Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 No, but I'll consider making one, then. Would love to see one esp. as your other missions have been such...uh...FUN!
Urra Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Coconut, is it possible to reuse the music files you use in your mp mission file? Ger, Rus anthems specifically?
coconut Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 Sure, just use a media translator mcu. Make sure to set the volume somewhere between 20-30%

You will love the directive on the others mission, it's help a lot for the immersion. 1

F/JG300_Gruber Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) Hi Coconut. Again, dismantling your missions to learn how to use the editor brings up some questions. This time on the vlukimatch one (don't worry, it's not on the point counting system, I gave up on this one ) On your patrol group : 1) Why does the proximity trigger linked to the patrol plane is being fired after the mission begins ? Why is it not triggered the same way as for the escort plane ? 2) What is the overall behaviour of the group with the current version ? (I understood that IA patrols are a bit reluctant to attack player controlled planes in MP) Does only the escort plane really gets agressive or do the patrol one still do something usefull ? Edited July 10, 2016 by F/JG300_Gruber
coconut Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 Yeah, the score counting was tricky. I wish the devs would just let us use the points in the game, but that only works when flying with locked normal or expert settings. About your questions: 1) No particular reason that I can remember, it should work just as well when started upon spawning. 2) The patrol is not very aggressive, it simply flies towards one of the nine areas where an enemy has been last detected. The goal is to keep it close to enemy players, thus forcing the escort to act aggressively. The patrol will turn defensive, and then maybe aggressive, but only if attacked.
F/JG300_Gruber Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 1) No particular reason that I can remember, it should work just as well when started upon spawning. Also I don't get why the second enemy close (ID:3071) doesn't get desactivated like the first one. That group is a bit of a mistery
coconut Posted July 13, 2016 Author Posted July 13, 2016 Also I don't get why the second enemy close (ID:3071) doesn't get desactivated like the first one. That group is a bit of a mistery The two blocks should be identical, for the sake of clarity. I'll check that for my next missions. The current implementation should work, it's just that there is an active proximity trigger connected to destroyed/not spawned units. It seems to be working as expected so far, but it's a bit ugly.
coconut Posted July 13, 2016 Author Posted July 13, 2016 A miltiplayer mission on the Moscow map, in winter. Cold clear weather. Can be player as coop on the Russian side. Meant to be extracted in data/Multiplayer/coconut/aieverywhere/. If you want it somewhere else: Extract where you want (e.g. Multiplayer/dogfight) Open msnbin file in mission editor Save to produce the textual mission file Open textual mission file in text editor, search for "GerAnthem.mp3" and correct the path Config = "multiplayer\coconut\aieverywhere\geranthem.mp3"; becomes Config = "multiplayer\dogfight\geranthem.mp3"; Do the same for RusAnthemShort.mp3 Re-open in mission editor, validate, save again You are good to go
RockRidge Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 A miltiplayer mission on the Moscow map, in winter. Cold clear weather. Can be player as coop on the Russian side. Istra.zip Thank you - we just played this tonight with about 6 guys. all on the Russian side against the new improved AI - what a blast, took the full 3 hours and the Germans were constantly pushing us. I`ll be honest, I changed the map to Autumn, and extended the plane choice, and placed a quick take-off airbase on a runway close to the town, but that was to compensate for the small number of us and the flight time from the Moscow airfield. I hope you keep writing MP AI missions that we can play in Co-op style as they are providing a lot of fun for us and I`m sure others. You (and the other big mission builders) should get the next planes for free as a reward to the MP community. Just sayin. 2
coconut Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Glad you and your friends enjoyed the mission, and thanks for the feedback. Knowing people are enjoying one's work helps maintain motivation.
CCG_bexhausted Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Hello Coconut ! We played (IRRE and myself) your mission yesterday. We were 2-3 on the LW side ( because 2 of them don't have BOM they could not play VVS side) and 2 on VVS side. Everybody had fun ! Thank you for sharing and hosting ! Bex 1
Ricardas_72 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Hello, I also want to change the season to autumn, but then when I select a plane, it is invisible. Could anyone tell me how to change the season and don't get any bugs or errors?
coconut Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 I think there is sometimes a bug that cause the change of seasun to not be properly applied to the file. Open the mission file and take a look at the "Options" block, in particular SeasonPrefix and CloudConfig.
EAF_51_FOX Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Hello Coconuts, I'm reading about your good missions, but I have one doubt: How can I fly this mission?? If I d/l and try to fly there is not any "DOGFIGHT" in the menu of Multiplayer , Just only the online "servers" list. In the old Il2 you could play Multiplayer missions.. But here in Bos/Bom game, I can only wait that some online server will load your missions ?? .. thank for any explanations.
LLv34_Temuri Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 If you want to run multiplayer missions, you need to get a dserver account and run the mission on your own dserver. See the end of this post for instructions how to obtain dserver account: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12826-game-updates/?do=findComment&comment=236340
No601_Swallow Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 If you want to run multiplayer missions, you need to get a dserver account and run the mission on your own dserver. See the end of this post for instructions how to obtain dserver account: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12826-game-updates/?do=findComment&comment=236340 Indeed. It's not difficult, but it's a bit complex. Apply to the devs (via the website and your account? I can't remember) for a "special" account for the dserver. For this, you need a separate email (gmail is your friend!). Then you have to run the dServer, configure it to connect to the dev's servers (remember that gmail address and the password you gave them!), and then - clicking "file" get the dServer to load and launch the mission. Then you have to activate TIR (if you use head-tracking) and then launch the game and - weirdly - join your own server. In my experience it takes a few minutes (two or three, depending on the complexity of the mission) before your server (which is running on your own PC just down there at your feet!) will appear in the MP server list. (If you want your server to be private - for testing - there's an option for that in the dServer config.) All of this is more complex than it should be, but it's not difficult. But it DOES make testing MP missions seriously time-consuming. Grrrrr!
EAF_51_FOX Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 OH MY!!.. I wish developers will change this complex procedure one day if possible.. I would like to try some of these good missions.. but really seem a pain now to get MP funcin into a "poor" SP Computer..
EAF_51_FOX Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 OK , Ihave made a request to 1c for dserver "password", but I don't see for the extra e-mail - gmail
