Pozsgay Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Hi Pilots, I created a set of Royal Hungarian Air Forces (Magyar Királyi Honvéd Légierők) 4K skins. I used the public templates as basis, then I reworked almost the entire weathering and recreated the alpha channel for my version. Click on the image will take You to my homepage for download: https://pozsgay.hu/tartalmak/il_2_sturmovik#Bf_109_G-2 The skins are semi historical for universal use, based on real RHAF paint schemes. I work in Clip Studio Paint, but if somebody would like to use this versions I can export psd templates with pleasure (some effects and layers must be reworked for that, but it works fine). There are some other RHAF skins on my homepage. If you are interested take a look here: https://pozsgay.hu/tartalmak/il_2_sturmovik 5 2 3

Our Finnish Virtual Pilots association members and about 80 BOS/BOM players are now using these Finnish Bf 109 G-2 skins on Multiplayer. 16 of those "Mersus" were brand new from the same factory on March 1943 when they arrived to Finland. So they are going to e very much similar each other, for ex. wing camo's. The rest of our total 48 Bf 109 were factory repaired aircrafts and there were more variants, for ex. the fuselages of the MT-222 and MT-225 were painted completely flat with the RLM 74. SR603-Flowbee Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Walter Zellot (6 October 1920 – 10 September 1942) was a World War II fighter pilot from Nazi Germany. He was appointed Staffelkapitän of 2./JG 53 on 19 August 1942 replacing Hauptmann Klaus Quaet-Faslem. Zellot received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 3 September 1942 for a reported 84 victories (although his actual total kill on that date was 78). However, earlier on the same day of his appointment on 19 August 1942, his Bf.109G-2 WNr.14189 was shot-up by a Soviet fighter, probably the Yak-1 flown by future ace Boris M. Vasilyev (929 IAP). On 10 September 1942, Zellot was killed while engaged in a low-level attack on Soviet troops northwest of Stalingrad. His Messerschmitt Bf 109 was hit by anti-aircraft fire. He bailed out at low altitude, insufficient for his parachute to open, and was killed. https://www.mediafire.com/file/fvpfaq81dxhcka2/Bf109G2+4k+JG53+Lt.+Walter+Zellot+Stalingrad+1942+v15.dds/file 11 2 1

SR603-Flowbee Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 I was asked to add another aircraft of 2./JG53 at Stalingrad based on this artist impression. Pilot unknown. https://www.mediafire.com/file/pqpp8d1ajrljh26/Bf109G2+4k+2.JG53+Black+3++Stalingrad+1942+v2.dds/file Consequently I found some photos and another artist impression. And made another version of the skin. https://www.mediafire.com/file/vizy8q152cw4kl9/Bf109G2+4k+2.JG53+Black+3+Tusow+September+1942+v6.dds/file This is also a good example of how subjective and speculative aircraft colours are when interpreted from black and white photos of the period. 11 1 3
SR603-Flowbee Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I haven't done a lot of winter skins but I remembered doing one for a friend of Hans-Ekkehard Bob from a picture he had of his 109F2 'Yellow 9'. It was tricky because of the prop spinner pattern and also getting the brush marks right especially on the engine cowling. It is for a 109 F2 but putting it on a G2 only revealed very minor differences so it is useable on both. On an F2... https://www.mediafire.com/file/b2r1hrwtuqdsyns/Bf109-F2_JG54_Hans_Ekkehard_Bob-V21_lc.dds/file And on a G2... And the answer is no, I do not have any winter skins planned. 14 4 5
