Particularly in case of those who bought Standard edition. I know the pre-ordering program will stop October 1st. It will be possible to activated one or both editions after that date?

Good question. But Im sure you will be able to activate it even after 1st of October because you should have an access to the game you BOUGHT. So no worries.
