Since they skiped the last week, I'm sure we will witness a new DD today.

Maybe they announce the P-40? :)

Yeah, I think an announcement is coming, along with in-cockpit shots of the P-40. Hopefully they will have read this thread and include a video of the summer or autumn map as well.

 

From what I gathered from Jason, however, it's unlikely we'll see the actual update next week, since the P-40 supposedly wasn't in testing yet a couple of days ago.

 

I won't hold my breath for the P-40 until the last week of September.

So very excited that we are approaching the release of the new seasons! Going to be a hot time in the old town the night that they get released I'm sure! Onwards and upwards! S! -Jupp - :salute:

Every time there's a DD they unpin the previous one from the forum early so that'll be your first clue - if 107 is unpinned then expect a DD later.

 

Edit: Just checked - 107 is still pinned on the Russian forum too but it's early, they generally unpin them about 4pm GMT if they're going to release new stuff.

True. The unpinning is the first thing I look for as well. As soon as the previous thread is unpinned, you know it's coming.

 

What does it say about us, that we've actually worked this out just to be sure not miss the DD by a minute? :wacko:

Just flew a marvellous airbase raid mission against Tatsi in the IL-2 with no nav aids at all. Found it, strafed an 88mm on the way in and bombed a row of He-111 and trucks. Regrouped with all 4 of us still alive and headed out. Followed the railway towards the exit point strafing a train on the way 9my gunner was injured). Found an He-111 limping along at low level trailing smoke and caught up and shot it down (I thought it was a Pe-2 till the very last second!) then as we reached our base met a flight of four F-4's over the base. Damaged one in a head to head then the other three vanished and we all landed. From the radio there was plenty of other stuff happening too, 109G2's, LaGG-3's and our own escort all doing their thing. Flew over a ground unit on the way back too and didn't notice till it was too late - had to dive to ground level to escape their flak, hit but no real damage. All in all really fun. Recommend playing expert with no nav, even the compass. You really need to keep your eyes open!

As much as the Campaign is maligned, time and again I get great results and fun from doing  a quick mission, as an AQMB it really is great, as a substitute for a full "campaign' perhaps not so much ;)

 

here's hoping for some P-40 news :cool:

This is true. Combined with a career generator I have had some fun with it.

Guys,

 

Here's a couple quickies just to give you something new to look at. I have the P-40 external model so I've been working on some personal skins. It's a fun one to paint. A very nice template.  P-40 cockpit is not ready to be shown yet. Hopefully soon. I'll try to post some more summer action pics this weekend. I don't want to get too far ahead of what the Moscow office is doing. They get mad at me, but nothing new there. :-)
