Do we need to start a new career for all of the changes to take effect? I am assuming we do not.

With the file selector window open go to the file name entry and change My.Mission to *.*, that will bring up a list of all the files in the folder. Just look for an msbin file and open it.  Just tried this with the new editor and it gives an error message, but I think that was the change to the mission editor.

Thanks for the tip. It works, and I can open all my .msnbin files. no problem.

Any tips on attacking the Zeps with machine guns?

Hit the rear large gondola with gunfire, I had the rear 3 props stopped by doing that.

I'm fairly sure that career missions are generated on the server, but either way, I've not seen suggestions that a new career would be needed for any previous patch, so you should be fine.

What effect does this have though? A slower Zepp? Does it go out of control? I'd rather see the internal glow as a gasbag or two ignites. 🔥🔥

I had also put many rounds from the SPAD's balloon guns into the gas bags.  Never started a fire, but the loss of hydrogen, coupled with the rear engines not operating caused the airship to lose altitude and assume a very tail down attitude. It landed in a field.

Discovered a new issue.  Last night I generated a mission with Vander's EMG, and it worked fine.  Tonight I made another mission, WW1, and the mission generates successfully, and is saved to my Data> Multiplayer>Dogfight file, and all the files for the mission are visible, but when I try to launch the mission online it just dumps me back to the Multiplayer screen.

Did you install the  new MissionResaver as posted by Sneaksie?

Haven't yet, I occurred to me right before going to bed last night, so I opened the mission in the editor and just saved it there and of course it worked.

OOPS.

Just shot down a zeppelin in career mode, wondering if you can a separate line for that kill, it’s a little more significant than a balloon, no? Thanks for the great work!

No, but at least it does show up as a kill on the stats page. It also does not have separate attack icons or goals and an observation balloon is closer than a bomber. Since it is only AI, I would be surprised if those details were to be added.

Just got back and loaded new version...Haven't started Gb yet,so I'm asking an obvious question  : do I do a QM to see the Zepplin or are the missions already up and working?

Mission on page 3 of this thread, or do a career. Not in either QMB yet.

I also noticed that….

A giant like a Zeppelin deserves a own target category 😅

Hi
Somehow it fixed it (I don't know why), and now I can drop bombs on the airship. Thanks!

The Zeppelin has a standard bomb load included by default and you would have to create waypoints along the intended flight path  and then link an attack area - ground MCU where you would like the bombs to fall. Relatively normal procedure for a bomber, just slower, haha.

I think firing machine guns at one part of the Zeppelin (to burst gas cells and hopefully ignite them) is the way to go. Note that, even if you don't cause ignition, you may do enough damage that the Zeppelin is unable to stay level and loses control.

If you perforate the gas cells with bullets, you will cause the Zeppelin to lose lift and (crash) land. It does not take a lot of holes to force it down at the moment. You can damage the gondolas and also force the crew to shut down engines and eventually land. I don't think the damage model is finished for the gondolas, crew or engines yet so you can expect some minor changes to happen. In order to ignite the ship and destroy the ship, le Prieur rockets are the way to go. I have not been able to burn it down with anything else yet. Some people have experimented with dropping bombs on it, so you might do a search on that.

I was amazed to learn than at least one guy did bomb the Zeppelin in reality.

Has anyone been able to get the zeppelin to bomb multiple targets? I wanted to create a scenario where the zeppelin moves slowly from one side of the city to the other, dropping bombs occasionally (btw, it would be great to have an option to drop one bomb at a time, not all at once!) I unchecked the limit ammo checkbox and set up a couple attackarea's which are meant to be disabled one by one as the zeppelin attacks them, but it doesnt seem to work. The zeppelin attacks the first one, then it looks like it starts going towards the second attackarea, but then just stops in mid-air and switches off its engines when it gets close.. My guess is the limit ammo checkbox isnt working correctly, so the game isnt replenishing the bombs..

Awesome, thanks for the patch! Do you maybe have more release notes regarding the "Various fixes for Zeppelins and their hangars" changes?

Any details on how the AI better engage large target? Group tactics or just better maneuver?
