It's been a fun ride but putting this one to bed soon as Korea war orders arrive.  That one looks magnitudes better already, modern software for a modern machine makes for happy flying.

With the recent new patch, the Russian pilot's goggle issue still exists.
Only Russian pilot doesn't wear a goggle in Winter map.
I re-installed IL-2 GB but it doesn't help.

Do we know what was the historical correct standard gun convergation range for the Ju87-D5 for the 2 MG151/20?

I know, I wish they could keep going with one more module about a late 1944 to early 1945 Eastern Front module, but I don't think that is what they want to do.

Good point. I’m sure we’ll find out in the next news update in November or December (Gregorian calendar that is).

I may be wrong, but I thought I recall that the Zeppelins would be added to the next update (which would be this one).  Is this the case?  or no?

If it is, what specific missions can it be found in?

Posted

I don't recall them making such a promise.

In any case, it is not yet released.

This is the only specific reference I can find to a release date for the Zeppelin update. It's from the Dev Blog #372 thread.

It did not sneak in under the radar yet. I think you will know when it does go operational.

So I assume the Bf109 E-4 is not fully released yet, because of the fact that we do not have the DB-601Aa engine, or the GM-1 nitrous oxide injection system?

Also why does the DB601A engine act different between the E-7 and E-4?  The E-4 will stop automatic RPM @ 2400rpm, whereas the E-7 will increase prop pitch in automatic mode up to 2600rpm.

I'll ask to confirm, but as of right now, I believe the E-4 is considered to be feature-complete.

It might be due to differences in engine design, but I'll also ask about this, thanks.

A summary from our engineering team:

"On the E-4 and E-7 variants, we have installed DB 601A-1 engines. Therefore, the remark "Currently it seems that the RPM behaves very oddly and it can't exceed 2400 RPM despite the Takeoff power being given at 2500 RPM" is incorrect, as the 2500 RPM figure is taken from the DB 601Aa engine specifications.

Regarding "Also why does the DB601A engine act different between the E-7 and E-4?" - we consider that the improvements shown in the image below have already been implemented on the E-7, but not on the E-4. This is why, in automatic mode, the E-4 has a 2400 RPM limit instead of 2600 RPM."

Maybe I missed something but is there any explanation to the fact the plane templates for Siege and Liberation (I-153,... Yak-3 Series 9, Bf 109 E-4, Ju 87 D-5)  have not an alpha template ?

and is there a very quick, simple and updated tutorial or post to explain what to do with Gimp to modify the alpha1... but very simple.

Thanks.

Why there is no alpha template anymore, I don´t know. Maybe the game developers can answer this question someday.

If the single alpha layer included in the template doesn´t meet your requirements, you can always create your own alpha template from the template supplied.

It is doable, but I´m afraid, you would need to do it the old fashion way, which is neither very simple to do, nor is it quickly done. I´m sure, you knew that already.

I don´t see a way, to modify the single alpha layer and get an acceptable result in a short amount of time. If you find a simple solution, please let me know.

Well, I remember the Bf 109 E-4 and the DB 601Aa engine modification differently. See here:

Why did the development team decide otherwise, or is the E-4 not yet complete?

It is considered complete. It was mistakenly mentioned that it would have that engine as well as the ones that have been modeled.

Perhaps I didn't notice this in prior game releases, but in this 6.003 release the Ju87D3 oil flap lever shows reversed what it should be doing (and the technochat indicates is happening) -  Auf (at the top) should be where the lever goes to when fully open, but currently that lever goes down to Zu when fully open. The lever movement is correctly modeled in the new Ju87D5.

By the way, where are the water radiator levers in the cockpit of either Stuka variant? I can see the radiator flaps position indicator moving when I adjust the water radiator, but I don't see any water levers moving in either Stuka's cockpit.

Thanks, it's been noted.

The water radiator controls are the two black buttons on the front panel.
