89- Posted August 8 Posted August 8 As I turn the camera in the cockpit, entire cities become flat and then pop back up. Is this bug unique to my install? The map is Rheinland
BraveSirRobin Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It’s not a bug. It’s a limitation of the game engine with big cities. 1
Kubert Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I never noticed that. @89- Did you try various graphics settings? I know that presets in graphics settings (Medium, High, Ultra) are responsible for rendering distances of trees...maybe buildings as well(?). Also there is a setting for "Distant buildings"...I have no idea what this one do. Maybe you have some uncommon combination of settings. Let's say, Medium preset and Distant buildings set together or so.
Kubert Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) I checked track you uploaded. I have no pop up buildings. Only half of the city is rendered and less as you fly away, because border of the rendering distance, but no pop up at all. My video is not very high quality, but at fullscreen and 1080p quality should be buildings visible enough. Here are my graphic settings. Edited August 9 by Kubert

This side-effect is also the reason why this is an option. 2 1

Does it mean that having the "Distant buildings" option ON makes them work in a similar manner to high/low resolution of the ground? When it's practically cut into large chunks that load in at a certain angle/distance/... (I'm no technical expert in this field) I fly with the option off, and the cities tend to go 3D similar to trees, gradually within a certain range of my position. Same cannot be said about the ground's resolution change, which can be a bit more hectic.
