I’m back again with a ‘Flying Circus’ historic mission to keep my mission making skills going. I am currently reading ‘Richthofen – a true history of the Red Baron by William E. Burrows’. I am also referring to another book ‘The Years of the Sky Kings’ by Arch Whitehouse. Both these books are excellent historic reading, and I recommend them to you.

This an interesting mission led by Manfred’s brother Lothar von Richthofen. During this mission Captain Alfred Ball was killed by a machine gun post hidden in a church tower.

You will fly as Lothar Richthofen with Jasta 11 operating from 2 airfields, Avesnec-le-Sec-Quest and Avesnec-le-Sect Est. I suggest you put your Albatross D111 on autopilot and watch the flight taxi out. You will form-up with the rest of the Squadron in the air – this helps the mission to synchronise. When you arrive over Arras watch out for the flak and the British scouts – good luck?

I would also like to mention the great skill of ‘SARFlytitus’ making my ‘Big Show’ missions into an exciting campaign. With the help of ‘SARFlytitus’ I will add some more ‘Big Show’ missions into this campaign in the not-too-distant future.
