I also use Steam, I only bought base game (Battle of Stalingrad) via Steam, rest directly from the web store. Linking accounts do the trick.

So, with a linked account I can run the game with all its installments through the steam launcher and it includes the items bought both on steam and the developer's website?

As long as you have purchased Stalingrad on Steam, yes.

That's a screenshot from the "Dev Version" of mountains just before sunset... ;)

Or on second thought, it could be just after sunrise...

North Africa or Battle of Britain would be awesome to see next.

I think wherever they go next they will stay on the Eastern Front.

I don’t think we will get a full module in 2026 but I hope for useful collectors …

And I hope the developers will be brave and give us more two engine planes like B25 or 26, a modern German bomber like Ju188 or a Tu2 for the sovjets.

Maybe I dream too big but a AEG G.IV for flying circus would be my favourite 🤩

Any collector for Flying Circus would be very welcome 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Btw, how about game improvements mentioned before like:

-functional bomb fuse button for German and Soviet planes

-Kurssteuerung for German planes

-drop tanks

-separate control for step-controlled coolers

Is any of this still in work?

Hope for nice surprises in the upcoming update 🙂

A full module?... I doubt it. Unless they have got hold of another full team of people to bring it about.

Still, I've asked for a Murmansk map for yonks, or for that matter the Channel map. Still, something in the works is better than nothing, but it will have to be something that floats my boat or I won't bother.

Will there be the Odessa map plus two planes at once from the first date of sale?

"In a few days, the program will launch. You will have early access to the Odessa map and the I-153 and LaGG-3 Series 4 planes."

So, the moment preorder begins there will be these. The rest comes later

Thx. I just didn't understand what pre-order means here. We can separate a) pre-order, b) access to EA version and c) full release with full price too. Pre order typically does not imply ANY access to anything. Following this line of reasoning - first pre-order, then EA will release in some time (late spring) and full release at the end of the year. That's probably how it's supposed to be. So preorder can only mean an order, with no access to anything.

More often than not, the update will come on a tuesday. I guess that´s due to syncing with Steam. So, maybe tomorrow is the day.

Well, the practice of pre-orders providing access to the WIP game has already happened when Il-2 GB (then just BoS) was being worked on around late 2013.

So this isn't that much of a novelty, people will be able to get the pack as a pre-order at a (likely, slightly) lower price while also getting the new stuff from this pack as it rolls out gradually, starting with I-153 and LaGG alongside the Odessa map.

Not really. Is pre-order one thing, and Early Access on the market another thing. There are many examples in the gaming world (look at Steam for examle). I think something is mixed up here and it raises questions. Pre-order usually results in a customer paying money, for which they receive the product when it is released - both in EA or the full release. That's how the market works. Pre-order is basically what Kickstarter offers in its very premise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-order . You don't have to look far - DCS always (or often) offers pre-order, i.e. pay money and wait for EA. At that time there is no module released but you have a discount. However, if in this case we immediately get the map, Czajka and LaGG, then all the better for us, of course.

The blog content uses "End of spring" title too and at the same time we got information about pre-order already this week. The end of spring is the second half of June, so it was confusing for me.

Africa?

Africa they would in competition with the group behind Clod. I do not know if these mountains are in the Korea warfront otherwise I would more think about that new series. But, why not a secret project, Italy think that could interesting. This front contains mountains which are great to fly within and the British Commonwealth/USA air forces. Both regions are the biggest commercial market for combat fly sims niche, why not squeeze out the last drop of the BoX series before abandoning.

I'll buy everything you get from WWII. I'm hoping for collector's planes to complement both fighters, both Allied and Axis. I'd love to see a Mörkö-Morane or French Morane-Saulnier M.S.406, fighting both early on the Normandy map and the WWI map, and also alongside other planes that fought with the Finns. Among them:
Fokker D.XXI
Fiat G.50 Freccia
Curtiss Hawk 75A
B-239 Buffalo
Westland Lysander

Luftwaffe:
Bf109G-10
Bf109G-14AS
Dornier Do-17
Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero

VVS:
Tupolev TB-3 - this aircraft is truly incredible, and I really like its design and its great versatility.
Tupolev Tu-2
Bell P-63 Kingcobra

RAF/USAAF:
Bristol Blenheim
Gloster Gladiator
Westland Lysander
Bell P-63 Kingcobra

I would love to see a naval-aerial battle like Malta and its convoys ... we really need to see TORPEDO BOMBERS in this sim ... it's about time ... IMHO it's one of the biggest missing pieces in the puzzle.

I'm not holding my breath, but we already have one Italian fighter and an Italian faction in the game

Well, yes. Tunisia, Malta, Sicily 1943 would be a really nice one. But I also have my doubts. Anyways, lets see what they actually mean with that recent announcement here and their plans for 2026. I guess we will learn in the next months:

Exactly. My best bet is, that they will be releasing collector planes in 2026 which will fill gaps in the already existing theatres. Obvious focus will be on Finnland. We have a little hint here already:

Congratulations to the team!
The regions chosen; Odessa/Leningrad, are very representative of the Eastern Front.
Fighter and ground attack aircraft are also very well represented!
I thought there was a lack of representation in the bomber category. Types such as Il-04 and Tu-02 on the Soviet side and Do-17, Do-217 and Ju-188 on the German side would certainly add a greater carat to the simulator!
If you can use at least part of the technology to be implemented in the upcoming simulator, Korea, "the house will be grateful"!
Good job!

I'm kind of with you on this one. As much as I would like to see them do a completely new module, it makes the most sense for the IL-2 dev team to make one final aircraft pack for Great Battles. Still though I would be very grateful nonetheless if this turned out to be their surprise for us.

I would also like to see the IL-4, Tu-2, Do-17, Do-217 and the Ju-188 for Great Battles, along with the A-20G, B-25D and H, B-26B He-111 H-20, He-177 A-5 and Ju-88 S-1, I would be really happy. Unfortunately for us who desire such large aircraft this would be too much time and effort diverted away from IL-2 Korea and Great Battles, sadly is starting to show it's age. All I can say is wait until they come back to the Eastern and Western Fronts, but that if it's to be it'll be years time after Korea and the Pacific.

But yeah, I would be over the moon if they made these aircraft for Great Battles. We need these aircraft in multiplayer to hammer our enemies to the ground.
