Warning (range) Messages in video:

02:02 Hurricane Mission

04:31 Yak7 Mission

06:28 FW190-F3 Mission

Here another suggestion to provide the SP Pilots with some informations during air combat

I have adapted my wingmen warning messages to the existing Audio/Radio files to create a simple solution for warnings during air combat.

-Player will be warned only if friendly planes are nearby (currently 3.5km / can be adjusted)

-By using the existing radio files it is easy to copy change the group to another nation just by changing the path information:

Config = "audio\radio\ger\actor51\const\fighter.ogg";

Config = "audio\radio\rus\actor01\const\fighter.ogg";

Config = "audio\radio\usa\actor101\const\fighter.ogg";

Config = "audio\radio\gbr\actor151\const\fighter.ogg";

-by using the existing audio files I want to avoid the usage of additional mods.

-Due to the lack of some from my point of view standard messages (e.g. attention, planes, enemy...) I had to use the available messages in the .../const folders.

-For all nations the warnings are the same, only with different languages / US/GB slang.

Messages:

10km    probability 30%: obj_spotted.ogg + long.ogg

  6km    probabilty 70%: obj_spotted.ogg +  6_km.ogg

  4km    probabilty 80%: obj_spotted.ogg +  4_km.ogg

  2km    probabilty 85%: obj_spotted.ogg +  2_km.ogg

  400m probabilty 85%: obj_spotted.ogg +  close.ogg

-Only information of distance to enemy planes, no information about direction.

-Installation (ca. 5minutes):

-create a sp mission (QMG, AQMG, Career,  PWCG)

-change all enemy planes to "DeleteAfterDeath = 1;" to avoid false warnings by already crashed planes

either by text editiong the mission file or by ME editing.

-open mission in ME, zoom in max, focus on the players plane.

-if player's plane is in a Group make the Group working.

-Import from file the Group:

image.png.063c91bc8eae4135763d0821b54c21a3.png

-scroll down to the imported group, at the end there is a further group that contains the proximity MCUs that have to be linked to the player's plane. With RMouse "ungroup" and after this Shift O (link to object), select player's plane.

-save mission.

(I am doing this since ca. 6years in each IL-2 mission that a fly, takes about less than 5 minutes.)

-Attached Mission Pack with Ger, Ru, US, GB Airfield Defensive (Scramble) missions.

-Wait until you get the radio message to take off to ensure, that your wingmen take off with you simultaneously.

-I have flown / tested all missions.

-there is one experimental german mission with an "Tower" Group (Tower name Ente = Duck) where additionally the headings in respect of the home airfield are reported.

-I myself use an additional mod that reduces the number of standard messages / chatter.

Hi @LukeFF,

In this post suggestion for Radio Messages I have used only the existing standard radio messages.

I have one question:

Are there maybe further, not published, messages of the same original actors existing?

I ask because some typical standard phrases / words like "Attention", "enemy", "watch your 6", "grid", or the general word "planes" are not available.

In other combat flight sims (clod / il2 1946) I have found very many additional audio message files, that are not used directly by the standard AI.

Just in case, that further audio files of the original actors (of all languages Ru, Ge, UK eng. US engl.) are existing:

Would it be possible just to publish them in the default .../data/audio/radio/... folders?

These messages would be very helpful for mission design due to the uniform systematic folder structure and naming convention.

I don't ask to create new ones, only if there are some existing but not published ones available.

No, I'm not aware of any unpublished audio files.
