Is there a way to pan smoothly from a cockpit view? Currently to “turn my head” I pan is jerky 30 or 45 degree segments using the HAT button. In other sims, I can pan the cockpit views in a smooth continuous movement like I would in a “real” cockpit. I’m not into VR (and the sim doesn’t support it anyway). In a sim as good as this one, you would think that would be possible. Thanks for any help.

Guess the no response answers my question —— there is no way to smoothly pan the view . Of all the upcoming improvements to the sim, this may be one they should consider. My opinion.
Thanks anyway.

While in a plane try using the F9 key to change to different view modes. Also, look at the camera settings, you can adjust movement speed there. You'll probably need to experiment with the camera settings to get the movement you desire.

With Saitek software I assigned the mouse movement to the HAT switch and so I can use the free vision with the mouse.

@jcole Hi mate. Sorry for the very late reply. I totaly forget about your issue.

To make things quick & dirty:

C:Drive/users/your name/Documents/1CSoftClub/CoD

scroll down to the "confUser.ini"

open it with notepad

scroll down to:

[Config viewSet]
AzimutSpeed=0.1
TangageSpeed=0.1
LenSpeed=0.1
MinLen=1.0
DefaultLen=20.0
MaxLen=30000.0
Speed=20     <----------this is the bad guy. I dont know what the default value was. I have set mine many years ago. Change it to around 15 to 20.
Offset=2
ZoomSpeed=9

P.S. Turn off the steam overlay for CoD. It can cause problems sometimes.

Years ago, I had the same problem and nobody was willing or able to help me. It took me ages to find this trick out. At the end, it was a short posting by an old member over at the same old yellow banana forums which I found out via the wayback machine.

I hope this helps. Greets

Thanks. I tried your suggestion and changed the setting to 15 — no change in panning. Still pans at intervals, no continuous panning.
