Voxman Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Any quick way, or quick mod to see that they are working in game, especially with the concurrent release of the GB/FC? This is my current mod enabler setup:
Aapje Posted March 30 Posted March 30 If you add a community-made campaign through JSGME, you can see that it is working in the Campaign overview.
KodiakJac Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Hi @Voxman Here is how your "Icon mod" should be installed in your Mods folder when using JSGME... IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles (or whatever your root folder is called for this game) JSGME.exe (installed in your root game folder above) Mods folder (under your root game folder) Icon mod folder (under your Mods folder) Data (under your Icon mod folder). If you don't see a Data folder, you need drill down further and install the Icon mod folder that has a Data folder under it) Graphics folder (under your Data folder) SWF folder (under your Data folder) Hope that helps!
Aapje Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Keep in mind that mods need to be enabled in the settings. If you don't get a mod warning on startup, they are not being loaded. 1
Voxman Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Thank you both!!!! The problem was the folder structure and how JSGME created them when extracting and installing. The structure was C:\Program Files\IL2 Sturmovick Great Battles\JSGME2.6\JSGME and all it's sub folders. What I needed to do was, as indicated above, move the JSGME and subfolders UP one set of folders. Ugh...and I've been working on computers for about 40+ years....must be the Mercury retrograde going round . 1
Voxman Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Wow!! What a difference these mods make! Almost like a new game. Thanks to those making them.
KodiakJac Posted April 1 Posted April 1 @Voxman Glad to hear you've got things working now. And yes, there are some great mods that really make this game shine even more! I've just recently added some more @Stonehouse mods like fires that burn longer for crashed aircraft and destroyed static aircraft, and they really add to the atmosphere over the battlefield. In particular, the fires for the destroyed static aircraft make airfield attacks more realistic as you can see which aircraft have been destroyed and which haven't on your second and third passes over the airfield. Also, there is a mod that make ships sink more slowly, which adds to the realism. Anyway, enjoy! 1
FlyingH Posted April 15 Posted April 15 @Voxman, please, move your game out of the "program files" folder. Some updates may lead to windows refusing to install files into windows protected folders, like "program files" or "game" folders. Cut and paste the whole Great Battles folder and paste it to somewhere else on your disc, or to another disc. 1
