How to interpret AI radio calls

Hello,

just a short questions... If my AI wingman call out they have seen bandits, what is the origin of their direction information?

If someone calls planes at 10 o'clock or eg NW at a certain distance, I often don't find them there. If I look or fly towards this direction.

Could anybody help or give a hint how to better use these information of AI wingman?

Best!

Their callouts seem to always be relative to themselves.  Something like “engaging enemy fighter to the south, high, 1 mile”.  This is useful if you’re in formation with them, but not so much if you’re not very close to them.

10o´clock is not NW, it is to your right at 280 some degrees from your line of sight forwards!

not wrong...

Seriously though, wingman direction calls are really only much use if the wingman is close by, and flying in the same direction as you: e.g. flying in formation with you. If you don't know where the call is coming from, or which direction it is relative to, all you really know is that there's a bandit about somewhere. Which is better than not knowing.

In a similar vein, if a flight controller gives you directions to intercept an EAC. the direction is from the flight controller, not you.
