I would love to see P39N/Q.

L was rare. No?

My source says 250 were produced of the P-39L model.

45 IAP in Kuban began receiving later M, N models in the first week of May 1943.  So, yes, the L was short-lived in operation but probably flew throughout 1943.

The good thing about the L model we have in Great Battles is that it is very similar to the D-2 model which was used by the VVS in 1942 - - without the "new" 1943 Modification.  Therefore, as a mission builder, I can use it as a D-2 or early L in 1942.

I would also like to see the Q (or at least N) model for 1944 for the Odessa Module which is coming soon.

Hi folks,

so what's the deal with the 1943 F4 engine? I thought they were being phased out in 1943?

I read in the IL-2 topic about F4:
Another noteworthy point of interest is that this more recent calculated datasheet, reproduced below, dating from July 1942 no longer notes the banning of the Start und Notleistungs power for the DB 601 E engine as opposed to the previous datasheet from the end of November 1941, points to that the full power has been cleared for the engine.

"This clearance is in fact also supported by the February 1942 release of the Bf 109F Flugzeughandbuch, which no longer notes any limitation in regards to the DB 601 E. The new Hanbuch part 7 (Powerplant) was likely to have been re-issued because of this clearance.
See D.(Luft) T. 2109F-1 bis F-4, 'Bf 109F-1 bis F-4 Flugzeug-Handbuch', Teil 6 'Triebwerksanlage', page 7., authorized in Berlin, 24 February 1942. "

But does that apply to planes at the front? That's what we need to know.

"February 1942 release of the Bf 109F Flugzeughandbuch"
You really think it was 5 month until this book arrived at the front?

And under that section:
"Flight measurements performed in E-Stelle Rechlin with a Bf 109F-4 with DB 601 E using the full power (Start- u. Notleistung, 1,42 ata 2700 rpm, for 1350 PS at Sea Level), reported by a GL/A-Rü IA datesheet dated 1 June 1942, note the following level speed performance :"

And here I found some F4 claims from the past:

I just want to be sure before I go and make further changes to the career mode files that I have the best information available and that I'm understanding it correctly.

6. Career: fixed a bug in attack aircraft interception missions where the mission point was always placed in a same location if the player's airfield is located far from the front line;

11. Normandy Career: corrected AA fire density in the landing zone attack and bombardment missions;

12. Normandy Career: the player group won't attack a landing zone for too long in landing zone attack and bombardment missions;

Thanks for that. These changes make the German Normandy fighter careers much more playable. The shorter attacks like in the landing zone attack missions should also be in the attack vehicle column missions. In that mission type the flight still is in the attack area for about ten minutes.

Also there should be more Allied fighter patrols over the landing area. I am flying with everything maxed out, but there are rarely Allied fighter patrols in the air.

Regarding the mission routing, the mission templates are universal for the Allies and the Germans. Offsetting will not work because the route will change when the airfield location changes.

Regarding this answer of @LukeFF to my bug report. For the landing beach area attacks, the developers changed the RTB route to the south, so you now return mainly over friendly territory. For me, this is a good solution. I can live with that. Maybe the developers can do this change for the attack vehicle column missions as well.

It is possible the timers for attack vehicle column missions will be changed in the future.

Regarding the number of Allied aircraft: in one mission there may be a lot and another not many. There are no special rules for this for Normandy.

Okay. I tried it in Frontline and Finnish servers and results were the same.

Yes, but only 1.30 ATA was used in Finnish service both on the G-2 and G-6.
