Ground Zero.... and still no news from TFS about the December release of FaF

Recommended Posts

No news on ATAG, no news here and no news on the TFS Facebook page.

Personally, I would think that with such a huge release happening in December, the marketing campaign would have been in full flow by now?

In case I missed it, has anyone seen any news on the release of "Fortresses and Focke Wulfs" anywhere?

Just because this will help kill 24 seconds of the wait, or more if you play it multiple times.

This popped up on my Facebook timeline from five years ago.😢

When Truesky was being teased.

This popped up in @FTC_Karaya's Discord.

So someone at least has access to a beta with ST and True sky...but again, a nice little WIP showcase completely not publicised. Heven forbid anyone new should know about CloD.

Fantastic video!

The creator does a great job at story telling using sims. That aside its a nice showcase not only of the out of reach/out of sight beta but also about what @Mysticpuma has always said about the sims capacity to put high numbers of aircraft into the air.

Now....wasnt there something about a poll happening last month? 🙂

Great and I can hear some engine sounds, much improved super sound... :)

Sim needs overhaul of crew models very badly. Gun movements can appear entirely divorced from gunner' involvement. Ground textures still have green "carpet" appearance. Will ST8/9 eventually fix that? Those enhancements would help do justice to videos of this caliber.

I mentioned it a few years ago.

The issue is the Ai appears to constantly try and locking to the nearest, rather than sticking with one target

Has it really been a year and a bit since the announcement, jez time does fly. But does one know the air speed velocity of an unladen Clod DLC?

Not sure, but I think it depends on whether it's a European CloD DLC or an African CloD DLC.

This sim is a perfect example of a  "Hate & Love" relation.

2 things I would like to see:

- Don't make any announcements in the future.

- Developement reports in every two months.

Edit:

Or a third thing could be an open beta...

I would like to remind you that the 'TF-Open-Beta' tester is testing a virtual modification of a '1c:Maddox Version' that was never sold.

The thing is, we had the major announcement in September last year and we be on life support by them drip feeding us for about 4 months afterwards but suddenly nothing not even a peep through summer and Autumn. I know late 2024 can be subjective but with like 6 weeks left to go can't help but think they are having issues.

I don't blame Team Fusion about the delay. A hobby project usually has many factors what affects developement. But than I would not make any statement, just say "we will release it when it's ready". That would be more trustworthy.

S!

Dropping snide remarks disguised as "enthusiasm" or other negative postings sure do not speed up the release, neither do they delay it. Just quite useless bickering on things we have no power over🙄

Actually found a lot of fun in DCS flying WW2 birds or the SU-25, the latter for some odd reason🤣Or blasting bots or terminids in Helldivers 2. The Forever Winter is also darn tempting, bought it. So really no issue for me If there is a delay, will buy the DLC whenever released.

Maybe people should just chill 😁 Have a nice day all 😎

TFS has already made enough announcements to last for many years to come.

And where was this announced?

And.... isn't FaF supposed to be released, not just a beta?

with trueSKY and/or trees this time?

It appears that Team Fusion might be choosing the worst option in this situation as usual, which is to let the clock run down until the last possible moment and then break the obvious news. Dissapointing.

I really, really, wouldn't be surprised now to hear that the whole endeavour has been canned.

Cliffs is done I reckon.

No, that would be going too far I think. The work continues, but their communication efforts are quite poor, as per. We'll get VR, but Team Fusion is not honest with us nor themselves as to when that might occur.

Straight up: is VR still crashing CloD?

Yes.

But....where has this been announced?

At the moment TFS have gone "radio silent" and aren't speaking anywhere publically, so where is this news from?

The last situation was all new features were disabled and only VR was enabled.

There has been no further news from the team (that I am aware of), the VR now works and a new beta is inbound with all features enabled again.

That said, with less than 2-weeks to go, has any FaF content been shown in game ready for release?

The announced release was 2ndHY 2024. But face it this is not doable.

Currently all manpower (coders) are focused on VR, trueSKY and Speedtree, good news is that progress is made in finding the sources of the crashes.

A new Beta will come out soon. I do not see how adding trueSKY and Speedtree to this Beta wil cause new VR crashes. But that is just my guess as I am not a tester.

Excellent work has already been done on the new map and new visuals if you look at "The Hardest Day of the Battle of Britain recreated - Part 1" posted earlier in this topic.

TF has already proven they can make CloD quality Aircraft, FM and DM. But creating a 4-engine bomber on this level is quite a challenge I would say. And yes we have not seen aircraft updates lately and we have only seen the Tempest in a video.

I'm afraid that 2ndHY 2025 is more realistic, when summer period is also taken into account. But we can only be sure if we get official news.

Are you a TFS coder then? My understanding from previous TFS "updates" was that trueSKY was suspected to be the culprit causing VR crashes. Your statement suggests that trueSKY has since been cleared of that suspicion.

We knew that when the announcement was made🤣

When did we not know this?

If you are providing this "update" as a TFS staffer please so state.

I am not a member of TFS nor tester, I received a pm from Buzzsaw about the progress. I am not aware that trueSKY is the suspect of the crashes. If there is currently a VR Beta with trueSKY and Speedtree that would even be better news.

That's been the case and expectation since 2021 (at least).

This time they actually announced a period for release, which, even with the most leeway makes it's release time in December 2024.

Yet again, the needle moves and yet again the community is left to guess what/when next.

It's almost like TFS want their community give up.
