Hail to The King, baby! Official release announced, 7th of current month 😎 Trumps competition in gaming and overclockable as well, for the first time on X3D series. I think of swapping my a few months old 7800X3D to this beast😎

Perfect timing for me. Then it can sit there in tis box for a year whilst I a) wait to see how many 5090s burn the house down and b) try to get a 5090 when it turns out no houses were burned down afterall.

Looking at the specs both processors are very similar:

I also have the same CPU. So, using both the same AM5 socket it looks like an easy upgrade, but I am not sure because if your 7800X3D already run IL-2 at 5.0 GHz, then the new CPU will give you 5.2 GHz, which is +4% in performance (about +4fps if you run VR at 90Hz).

It looks like also allows higher RAM speeds but then you need a particular Mobo and RAM as well.

@chiliwili69 The base clock is 500MHz higher than on 7800X3D. That is quite a bit and the OC capability of newer chip helps to extract even More performance. Also temps seem to be better as well, all with same TDP as in previous X3D. Already pondering to sell my CPU 🤣
