Is it possible to access official skins (to use as a reference)?

Hi, I am looking through the folders and would really like to use this skin as a reference to work off. Is it possible to access these skins? I have looked in the P-51 folder but it isn't in there?

I asked that same questions some years ago but I don't remember the name of the thread. There is a tool on this forum that allows the extraction of the skin files. You kinda have to guess which file contains the skin you're looking for though.

The original skins could be used to change / add small details.

I did that only 1 time to suggest a new cencored finnish swastika.

But the disadvantage is, that the extracted skins do not have the complex layer structure as they are in the templates.

I would like have access to something like a "Template" version of the original skins.

Maybe to create a version with another tactical number or without tactical number to use the ones defined in the missions files.

Some of the original skins could maybe re-created by selecting the layers from the original templates, here my very first skin from a template:
