DRosa Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 This is what the screenshot captures The red circle here represent actually what the sunlight cover of my view I already tried some mods, like SKY and LIGHT, sun size correction and VR Enchancer, nothing seems to work. Anything that I could do? If I turn the gamma down, it doesnt change so much, as make impossible to see the panel
Voxman Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Not sure if you use OPENXR toolkit, but there is a setting under the Performance menu ( I think), for sunglasses...there are three settings. I would use the Dark setting for this particular map.

firdimigdi Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Unfortunately this is an issue that players keep bringing up after a certain update in 2022 (I believe it was after the new sky dome/cloud update). What isn't understood in each of the threads (some are in the bug report forum) by the devs it seems is that the percentage of the actual usable viewport covered in the HMD is much higher than the percentage covered when seen on screen so effectively you cannot hide from the interrogation light beam.

So... almost 3 years after the update and still no solution? Is there a possibility of playing with the old sky dome? I dont have headtracker anymore, and only came back to IL2 because of VR, but honestly, the sun makes it unplayable to me, it is just that bad Edited July 12, 2024 by DRosa 1
DRosa Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Well, spent too much time trying a bounch of different solutions, I'll drop off IL2 again while the solution doesnt come up or an update fixes it. 1
kissTheSky Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 I wouldn’t hold my breath. VR QoL improvements may be hard to come by as development team is reportedly working full speed on their next title.
GOA_Karaya_VR Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Some VR folks including me report many times this un-healthy problem and we never recieve any feedback from the Devs.. Despite the unrealistic situation, this sunblock problem is a pain for our eyes. Please Devs, we need some help from your part with this Sun Haze situation Kind regards. 2

It would be nice to see GB be polished when development stops.
[CPT]Crunch Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 One thing I notice with the greater resolution in the Crustal Light, the sun is no where near as harsh and annoying as it was in my G2. Its really become a non-factor compared, no idea why

I saw sun with 8kx, with biggest fov the sun is biggest too. You can not turn your head enough to reduce sun. With lower fov was easier, just turn your head a little, and sun is gone. I have crystal now, but I got used to sun, it's not bothering me (much) any more.
