Careere sticks on the start screen

Since the last update, careere freezes, when I click the start flight button. I have to hard reset the sim, kill it through task-manager or shut down steamvr. Quick-mission, missions and campagnes work flawlessely, actually better then ever. I though its my firewall not letting the sim communicate, but it seems ok so far, otherwise I could not log in. There is no crashlog or any other indication what could cause the freeze. I use Il2 since years, never experienced anything like this. I have also wiped and reinstalled the sim twice since to no avail. Anybody any tips about the issue?

Edit: Found out it only happens in VR. Starting a mission from the map in career mode in vr freezes the sim. Quick-mission or campagne in vr  start without a problem. Career in 2d-mode works as usual.

Hi could you please send a mission file (from /data/missions, the _gen.mission file) when this occurs? Also, the the start flight button, is this the button you click after the mission has been generated and you are looking at the briefing screen?

That file (by mission ID) if from AQM (Moscow autumn map AQM) - not career, seems like you flew AQM after that - and career mission was overwritten by it.

Ok, so of not much help (the mission file). Yes, I tested QMB after the lockup and that worked. QMB and Campagne missions is all I can play right know. Still sticks at the "Start Mission" Button when try to fly a careere mission in vr. As I said, none vr works. I have since reinstalled the game two times and tried to ged rid of all possible remnants. To no avail. Im start to thinking of a problem between my 8kx and the newest drivers, since I have some occasional short freeze in msfs as well when operating any interactive element. No lockup though. Not sure what to do. My racingsims and dcs work flawless.

I have been experiencing this as well. Sometimes I hit the start mission button and it goes to black screen. I still hear the ambient hangar sounds and I can go to the map screen however I never get to the cockpit. Attached is the gen files.

Still having the issue after the new update as well as updating to the newest nvidia driver. Sticks at careeres start mission screen when I hit the start mission button in vr. Everything else works (in vr). What is different with this Button behaviour? It cant be the mission file, because it works in pancake mode. And it worked all those years when I almost exclusive flew career missions. Any ideas?

FYI: I found out, when having the Pimax-Client app open or docked, the sim freezes when click on "start mission" in carrere. However, when quitting the client (the service still runs) I can start the mission just fine in VR. So its Pimax Client software conflicting with carrere start event somehow. I did not even know, I can use my headset without having the Client open all the time. Took me a whole month to figure that out. Nice to be back in careere.

I can still hear all the hanger sounds, but I have to force close the game. I had this issue before the most recent update, 5.203, and I still have this issue after it. I am able to do quick start missions and other stuff, but not my career mode.

Can you generate a mission like this in career mode and then attach it here? Unfortunately, a QM mission file won't really help with fixing this. Thanks!

Whoops. Yep, it'd help if it was the one I'm having trouble with haha. There are only two files in my Campaign folder, so I'm not sure if this is correct. Please let me know.

So, what might be going on is a problem with the cp.db file. You might want to try deleting it and see if the problem goes away, with the understanding of course this would erase any career progress you have.

*Updated after trying* Thank you. I was able to start an entirely new career and fly again. I still have the old cp.db file saved somewhere else. It sucks to have to start all over after already completing the battle of Moscow, Stalingrad, and about 2/3rds through Kuban, but at least I can fly again.

Have you found any solution? The same is happening to me with Pimax Crystal Light. Closing Pimax Play does not solve it. No problem in 2 or with Pico 4 Ultra, it happens just with Pimax. Also, game forces pimax to run on 72 Hz, even though mode 90 hz si set.

 

Edit: game freezes even when I delete the cp.db file and try to start a new career.
