AndreiTomescu Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Good evening ! I remember from the times I played a lot Il-2 Sturmovik 1946 that when flying with the romanians (IAR and so) I used to have the radio chatter in romanian language. Also on the new one, you've made this amazing thing, italian radio chatter. Awesome. Now, on the new simulator, with the Odessa Map up and almost running, we have some awesome scripted campaigns concerning the exploits of the romanian aviators back in 1941 into the making, done by some great creators. Also we're cooking a campaign about the exploits of the Ruspoli brothers on the Odessa front. Mostly about Picci (how the romanians called him) I'm just the history research guy, and in order for them (and also the already existing campaign featuring the IAR) to be as authentic as possible, a romanian voice is badly needed. Could you be so kind as to point me towards how to create a romanian language radio pack? Importing from 1946 is maybe an option? Having german radio instead of romanian one is quite braking the immersion, and the devs have no intention of doing that, being much too man and time consuming. Looking at recording and editing about 2,321 individual sound files is quite impossible for me, so i've thought about transferring/adapting the original ones from 1946, especially because they were very good, with different accents from different regions. How did you do it? I don't know how, but i'm quite determined...... I've spoke with the devs, and they have no intention of doing something official. So it's modding the only chanse. Thank you very much in advance! Greeting, Andrei PS couldn't sent you a message, dunno why, it says you cannor receive messages. so sorry that i've posted here. 1
JSOflyer69 Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Yes it’s a lot work, the Italian radio chatter I took from 1946 mainly,I know 1946 has Romanian chatter,I do not have time at the moment ( I need do some work pay the bills ) plenty of free sound converters online,I used a really old one I got from a pc magazine some time ago on a cd 💿 Best of luck if you convert the Romanian radio chatter from 1946 to great battles

I know the bills problems :), with 2 grown up kids they really get larger !! But if you could just point me to WHERE to find those audios? inside the 1946 main files? And again, thank you, very, very much! P,S. i think you'll really enjoy the Ruspolli story
JSOflyer69 Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 RO.zip i think these are the ones.but i do not speek romanian 1
AndreiTomescu Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) Ye, yes, YES they are! Thank you very much! 🥰 You are a life saver! Edited June 6 by AndreiTomescu misspelled due to maxx excitement 1
AndreiTomescu Posted June 6 Posted June 6 You are right, it's quite a bit of work. Already started, i'm sure will be awesome. Took all the ro files, converted them to .ogg, copied the german ones and renamed the new folder as "ro", replaced the german language files with English corresponding ones (I don't speak german at all), and started to find the corresponding ones from ro and renamed those with the name from the modern game, and copied to the "ro" folder. Due to different structure, some ro audio will have to be split into pieces, and some rerecorded. Am I doing it right so far? Once again, thank you!
JSOflyer69 Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 I think if I remember correctly I converted the wav files to OGG files and just renamed them, you can get sound converters online, the trouble is there are so many files to do!
AndreiTomescu Posted July 14 Posted July 14 for those interested, especially because there is a suuperb campaign in the oven featuring those brave italians on the Odessa front, you can find the romanian radio chatter here:
