Really weird waypoints

Is there any way to edit the number of waypoints on 15.1.1? Just generated this mission and all these waypoints seem kind of pointless and confusing

You can move the waypoints as you wish with the mouse.

What you are seeing is a climb out pattern combined with a search pattern.  I would suggest moving the climb waypoints around such that they don't intersect the search waypoints.  As @Jake pointed out, waypoints can be dragged wherever you like.  Pressing the middle mouse button gives you the option to remove or add a waypoint.
