Blitzen Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 .. and I am getting this popup that will be familiar to others having this problem. Is there a newer version, that I can download and install that might fix this problem? If so where? Thanks!
Barn-Owl Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 It says "Already up to date" on your Runtime Switcher window. I hope that I do not run into this issue. I am away from my home PC now, but hopeful that this will not affect me, as I only use OpenXR/OpenComposite and would hate to go through SteamVR.... -Owl

Barn-Owl Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 yes...I prefer XRnecksaver over the steam version one. I cannot fly VR without it!
Barn-Owl Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 checked mine today... working fine on my end, thank God!
hsthhsth Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 @Blitzen have you tried downloading & installing the DLL directly from OpenComposite/README.md at main · aashishvasu/OpenComposite · GitHub ? Under the section "Per-game installation". Standard OpenComposite installer messed up on my system, installing the DLL I downloaded last year solved this.

I already had this folder ,I'm guessing from my first successful install og OpenComposite and NeckSaver last year. Now can you help me out on where to place ( replace...) the two items included? I include a screenie that shows the Openvr dll currently in Necksaver. Do I need to replace that, or go elsewhere to drop these? Many thanks for your patience, but I am going a little crazy to get OpenComposite and NeckSaver working again...
Blitzen Posted February 9, 2024 Author Posted February 9, 2024 I fiddled with it off and on today, and just got it working today. It may have had something to do with replacing the ddl's ( again) but I'm beginning to think it was probably unplugging and re-plugging my Reverb headset that jolted it back into compliance.I was really worried because going thru Steam had just about halved my FPS and I lost NeckSaver...Now I feel so much better! Whew!
TP_Sparky Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 I started IL2 and XRNS and entered the IL2 server for my online squadron and could see the aircraft but couldn't move ailerons, etc. No controls moved, nor would the a/c respond to keyboard engine start command. I restarted my computer but now IL2 refused to launch, giving this error message. No clue how I can solve this or even switch back to Steam VR. Just missed this week's squadron mission.
JMax Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 I have the "OpenXR Call Failed" error message now. Unable to enter the game. I just updated Quest 3. Ugh. I am stumped.
Blitzen Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 I have a ReverbG2 .Open Composite has stopped working twice. Each time it has stopped I have taken advice from some kind soul in this Frum and it was: Unplug headset, wait a few moments and reinstall, then reboot PC if needed. This has worked for me.?
JMax Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Thanks Blitzen.... I managed to get into the VR IL2 again but am not sure what changed. I did unplug and reboot several times.I have found the Quest 3/Oculus setup to be quite finicky. Sometimes I get a warning that the USB3 port isnt recognized even though I just used it. A curious thing about OpenComposite is that before it wasnt working,I had the IL2 icon(and the Steam VR icon) in the configuration page in OpenComposite. Now it is blank.
