Ask how to adjust the range and rate of fire of the German Flak

Hello everyone,
I would like to know how to adjust the range and rate of fire of the German DCA, for example:
- Flak 36 (Real name Flak 36/37 3.7 cm barrel)
- Flak 37 (Real name PL vz.37 8.8 cm barrel)
- Vehicle (Real name Flak 38 4 Canons 2 cm)
In fact I created a mission but the cannons only start firing when the planes are leaving.
I would like to know how to make them shoot as soon as the planes fly over them.

Make the MCU attack area have a radius of about 10-11000m and make sure the gun is activated when the target is around 10-11000m away for the flak 37, the others would be around 4-5000m. You can't change the weapon range or ROF without a mod but the MCU settings will override the weapons range and for heavy flak if you activate it too late then it won't have time to turn and engage.  Unmodded range for a Flak 37 is 10400m (hence the suggested radius and activation distance) and the others are around 2-3000m. If you set the MCU attack area radius to say 500m then the gun will not fire outside that. If you activate them when the target aircraft is very close then you give the gun no time to orientate and aim. The latter is usually the cause for them firing only after the planes pass. You can also pre orientate the guns to the expected direction of fire when you place them.

Can you tell me if I should connect each gun with an MCU attack area like that ?

Like this the - Vehicle (Real name Flak 38 4 2 cm Cannons) only fires on an aircraft which passes directly above it.
What I would like is for him to constantly shoot at all the planes ?

I'm not that great at the editor myself. I just know a few things from working on mods of EMG see IL2 Great Battles Easy Mission Generator - Easy Mission Generator by Vander - IL-2 Sturmovik Forum (il2sturmovik.com)

 

 

If you unzip the download for EMG you will see in the template folder a mission file - CoopTemplate_GENERIC.Mission. If you open this in the editor you can see an Assets group. If you expand this you see a AAA group, in this group are good examples of how to set up AAA with some check zone and attack area MCUs. My understanding is Vanders approach is regarded as good practice and is very similar to what the career and QMB missions use although Vander only uses a smaller attack range and check zone range where I'm recommending a larger range/radius to allow the guns to fire out to their natural range. 

 

I don't know why your flak 38 doesn't fire until the aircraft is overhead, from your pic it looks like the gun is active from mission start - only thing I can think of is that the effective range for a flak 38 is 2000m and perhaps your aircraft is flying high enough that it only comes into range when almost directly overhead. 

 

I understand from a mission design viewpoint that you should use checkzones to activate and deactivate AI units as needed as often as you can as it keeps the resources required to run the mission lower - which is good from a hosting perspective.

In the 'Advanced Properties' of the Attack Command, you only have the time set to 2 secs.

Try 90 minutes.

Quite interesting find ! ... also some other groups as well like the airfield groups.

Wonder how many IL2 mission makers 'borrow' here from Bob.

by looking at how "SYN_Vander" created his missions with EMG, I managed to do what I wanted with my Flak.

I didn't know about this wonderful "EMG" Mod, thank you for this discovery.

 

Please note, the screens above do not come from an "EMG" mission, they come from a mission that I am creating.
