How to backup progress

My hard drive crashed and I lost all my career and campaign progress. 
 

A question and a suggestion:

 

Question: what do I need to backup in the future to keep this from happening again?

 

Suggestion: cloud saves of career and campaign progress.

Found the solution here.

 

You need to copy over the following:

IL-2 Sturmovik BoS>data>Career

as well as

IL-2 Sturmovik BoS>data>swf>il2>usersave
