Gifting accounts?

Is it legal? I know this has been brought up before but I cannot find it or I am too stupid to understand the search feature.
Is it allowed to gift an account. And if so, can the receiver change the email it is attached to?

Be careful, because we all know you’ll probably change your mind the very next day, and you’ll want your account back, lol ?

This is only my opinion, but for me it should be OK. You can gift a module so why not a few modules ( a whole account)

That's what I found in user agreement:

2. BUYING & SELLING GAME ACCOUNTS
Account salespeople advertise advanced accounts, and bait players eager to progress in gameplay with tantalizing and unrealistic promises.
The risks surrounding account sales are:
The seller may take your money and never give you the account
You cannot be sure that the seller won’t continue using the account
They may be selling the same account to multiple people
The account status is unknown; it could already be poised for permanent ban
The account will never be secure; the Operator cannot provide support for compromised accounts
If you choose to spend money on the account, it will still never actually belong to you

but nothing it is forbidden to sell or buy or gift

I understand this can be looked at as dramaqueen behaviour after that Korea new thing. But I have somehow no feeling for things of no interest. Meaning GB and 70% of DCS content. And 95% of msfs content. I stopped defending or directly give critique. I try to ignore. Much easier in a virtual world.
But I am giving away all my old flight sim hardware to a mates son who flies xplane.
This include collective stick and throttles and a TrackIr 5.0.
I was thinking of giving him my account here just to show him the fun of CFS. I currently do not use it and can easily buy those few tlc’s I use if urge come.
Or take back the account if it is not for him.
Nothing drastic. I will not buy the next gen IL 2 anyway until it is settled and honest impression of it comes to surface. I am sceptical but hopeful

So you’re basically quitting flight simulation altogether now?

disregard…you’re giving away your old stuff.

why not just give him your login info and then let him try it using that, who knows if he will like it or not, its easyer then going trough the proces of changing stuff and then geting them back if he dont like combat sims

Yes this was what I was thinking. I just want to be sure I put him in an awkward situation.

I accidentally bought this 3 weeks ago thinking it was 1 year waiting list. And accidentally bought a flightconsole dirt cheap

I simply over invested. And have no room for it all. 4 high end sticks 3 rudder pedals and 5 throttles. While awaiting a buyer of the flight console and high tech panels for tubeliner I struggle to house it.

Yes, I know. I was just pointing out that if they are giving these warnings about buying it means it is not forbidden to sell. Let alone to give away

Who's physically logging into account is none of 1C's business and probably doesn't bother them either, as long as two users are not trying to do so at the same time using two separate computers. That obviously won't work and that's an inherent risk they're trying ot warn you about in aforementioned EULA.

Thus what you do with your account unofficially without shouting about it all over the forum is your business only. If you want to give it to someone you know and trust and you don't mind that he will be using your email, well, just give him the login data and that's it.

It's a laudible idea, but unless they have a serious interest in aviation, they're still going to prefer the simplicity of running with a gun.

Hi Luse - Sorry to take this off topic for a question, but your statement and the photo intrigued me.  Is that the Rhino FFB joystick that you "accidently" purchased?  If so, what do you think about it in DCS/IL2 and how long did it take to get it?

Back on topic - I have a couple of younger gamers who gladly received my old hardware on occasion, and I think just gifting a Steam copy of BoS when it is on sale (currently $12.49) is an easier way to let them try it out on their system if you think the interest is there enough to loan them a joystick to try it.  PWCG is a good way to fly with them (which you can't do if you give away your account) to show them the ropes, which often really helps focus their interest when you talk them through a take off and landing.  Anyway, just another thought - personally, I would hate to lose you here.:salute:

*It took 2 weeks from I ordered to I had to reserve it or somthing. 1 week more and I had to pay for it. I am getting it tomorrow.

It take a lot more force than Brunner before overheating. I can report as soon as I get to collect the virpil stick on my other house

Thank you - I had this on my "radar" but, like you, I thought it was a long way out so had only given it cursory attention.  I will be very interested to hear what you think - I miss @dburne here for many better reasons, but we all have to admit he was a wonderful product tester on all the new stuff coming out.

Yes he was, I just did not follow that part because of my priorities lies elsewhere.
I do invest a lot in controllers. I do not so much in eye candy. I am happy with my G2 and old pc. Won’t change that until DCS is unplayable. But the help he gave people and the true passion about the genre is not seen so easily as with him.
In my eyes frustrated people are just as much passionate about sim , but Don was positive about it
