One thing that I hope can be looked at is consistency between different gun sights and guns.  For example in FC, when flying the Sopwith Triplane, if you choose the twin guns vs the single gun.  If you switch back and forth, the gun sight alignment changes.  As someone who uses open track for head tracking,  this is a difficulty because you must end the game and restart it without opentrack running in order to adjust the pilots seat position using the seat position keys (insert/delete/etc).  This situation also occurs when switching between the aldis gun sight, and the bead and ring gun sight.  Would be really appreciated if this could be addressed so that once you have your seat position set, it would be correct for all gun and gun sight options.

Are there any plans to increase the MP server player limit to more than 84 players?
Would you consider opening the game for an external match making software such as HyperLobby?
Any views to offer some cooperation / support to the community-run external servers such as CoBo and Finnish? 
Overall MP optimization to improve performance and allow for richer virtual environment (e.g. more than 10 AI bombers)?

A lot of good questions already asked. I’ll echo some others and ask for a simply yes or no in regards to compatibility of our existing game and what is coming.

Any possibility of increasing the max number of control buttons from the current 64 to more? Perhaps 128? I currently can't use my landing gear lever on Virpil throttle since they are numbers 74 and 76 (yes, I could re-number them with the Virpil software but I'd then have to re-do everything in my DCS settings). 

 

Also, how about increasing the allowed number of peripherals from the current 8 ? (This is not as important to me as increasing buttons, as asked above, but I do have a button box sitting unused due to the peripheral limit).

I'm curious about the future of Flying Circus.

 

Can the AI be improved?

MP implementation of artillery spotting/photo recon/aerial recon?

new aircraft, such as early war recon (BE2) or late war German recon?

FM revisions based on modern research?

Static aircraft for decorating airfields (something available for WW2, but not for WW1)?

Will the new project be compatible with game material already made?

Will it be possible to open development up for modders? Especially hopeful, seeing how much Team Fusion has been able to accomplish, having started as a group of modders.

Any plans to fix  new missions types  (photo reconnaissance, artillery spotting, etc. ) that they would work properly in the multiplayer not just in single player mode? Now activate them send message/show interaction interface to all players on the server not just to one who triggered it.

With the new project, what are the ambitions for scale-to-fidelity? Are you creating a "study-level" sim which focuses on high-fidelity models or are will the focus be more on scale with large numbers of A/C, ground objects, high player count servers etc?

What are plans for making the battlefield environment more immersive and realistic  as evolution of the game engine.

Do ground objects like static buildings/trees and moving object would have some physics simulation or predefinted animation when hit /destroyed or just like most present GB trees - none or one frame switch to total destruction model without Newton lows seen in action?

Do dust, smoke from bullets/shells hitting the ground or objects will act accordingly to wind and time to particles disperse?

Do bombs would make proper craters in the ground making runways not save to land or take off?

Or like back in the day with Rise Of Flight where you could buy every map and plane individually?

Maybe subscription based like office356 and Photoshop cc, where you can't buy the software as a permanent license anymore but have to renew your subscription monthly or yearly?

1. Are there plans to keep improving the AI, make it more realistic? No more fights to the death etc

2. Are there more improvements planned for all the campaigns, more mission types or campaigns, more random engagements, more missions where nothing happens etc, more realistic campaign flight numbers on each side? Maybe even more campaign customization to increase the randomness of what we encounter on campaign missions.

3. More work planned on performance? I would take a fps hit if it meant more planes and vehicles in the campaign game world.

4. Any campaign system planned for Tank crew?

Will the GB team consider reaching out the team at WoFF/WoTR and consider bringing them in to do AI programming, since they're among the best in the business and wasting time/resources working on an ancient game engine that's going nowhere?

I'm going to ask something hopefully relevant as, since we cant ask about the next thing, it would be good to deal with what could make the current thing feel fresh.

 

What about night fighters and their bedside companions, airborne radar and better ground vectoring/radio nav? 

 

To me this feels so obvious.  We already have apropriate planes, and the new mechanics seem like less work then a single entire new plane.

Yes, it will take work, but many suggestions have been made as to how it could be monetised,  plus the marketing and longevity angles are strong as, once established, the FMs would travel with any future game-engine ports 

 

2. Will you budget FM reviews in a products lifecycle going forward?

 

3. Are there plans for earlier war 2-seaters in Flying Circus?

They can be done as premium add ons.

The fighters we have in that period have no targets!

Specifically,  the Be2c,  Albatros C.III or Aviatik C.II or LVG C.II

Could the German tail marking be made into decals, so one can choose to fly without any tail markings?

 

As we have a PO2, is there any likelihood of getting an Fi 156 or similar (Fw 189, Hs 126) for a related role for the Axis forces? I am not asking the same for an equivalent western allied aircraft, simply because these were nominally un-armed. 

 

...and it would still be nice to be able to put my ugly mug onto that of the pilot model ala 1946.

What will be the difference/ evolution for planes damaged visualization for new project ? What technique same as in GB planes will use predefinted skin damage levels with dynamic decals ?

Will the new technology have a spot on better visibility overall?

 

Will we see a brand new mission editor?

 

Any chance to get the big 4 Mots B17, B24 etc?

 

Will we have an integrated reward system and overall stats?

 

Any chance to have a free scaling multiplayer server? Like a non limit playernumber, only based on the platform power one provides

Could the navigator in Mosquito act like a gunner and inform about closing enemy planes? He is completely useless at the moment but could add great value by just having gunner script.

Not being able to use the excellent Recon GUIs in multiplayer is a huge missed opportunity that could improve the playing experience greatly.

In new project would more realistic overheating  modeling replace the engine timers mechanic, if not, do engine timers be implemented as in GB ?

With the Karelian map on the horizon I ask for the following collector planes.

 

Ju-87 B2/R2

- Yak-1 (early)

LaGG-3 (early)

- Hs-123

 

Ju-87 B2/R2 would be a good collector plane also usable in the BoM module. Additionally Yak-1 (early) and LaGG-3 (early) which were also used during the Battle of Moscow timeframe. And of course the Henschel Hs-123 which saw service on the Eastern Front right from the start up until 1944.

Any plans of upgrading the sounds? It has been one of the biggest gripes from the beginning, especially the engine sounds.

I've NOT heard that FC will be ignored in the next generation of this enterprise.   So assuming it will be supported,  and who knows perhaps additional development will come at some point, just hoping the developers will include some of these suggestions down the road.  Really thought that was within the quidelines that were specified for this thread?

The point I was making (and that I had to remind people about) is that this topic is a place for people to submit their questions for the team to answer - not for it to be cluttered up with comments from other people here. That's all, nothing more. :)
