Far contacts appirance/ lod transition

Hi guys.

Recently installed Blitz and the DWT which I bought some years ago.

I have the issue with distant contacts. It's not the visibility issue. But the transition from "bars pixels "  to the plane lod , I noticed that when transition occurs for few seconds aircrafts do have strange appirance, sometimes they look like a star or have something like additional wing or wing pointing in wrong direction ( it might be the propeller wrong size )When this happens I can't judge the plane aspect or direction of motion , this  confuse me  and delays my decision which manuver to make for intercept or avoid the bandit.

Do you expiernce the same?

BTW is there a way to manually set the default pilot distance in Z axis, in particular move the pilot more forward to the instrument panel/ nose of the plane. Same as you move forward by trackIR. But save it as permanent default in cockpit position ?

PS I installed the game on  none SSD drive and when AI squads pilots transmit the audio message along with text ,I notice short game frizes. Is there something to make it plays smooth , a memory bufor or something?

I'm using 21:9, 3440x1440 aspect ratio monitor @100hz , unlimited fps i think.

S!

This LOD transition "feature" is on all systems, be it AMD or nVidia. Only thing that really sticks out.

Regarding the sound issue try disabling AI chatter aka Voice in sounds. See If it helps ?

Unfortunately yes. It's really annoying when the "star thing" is on. Because as you exactly said you can't judge the aspect of the plane which is fundamental for the combat.

iirc it has been like this since the spotting update for high and low Res monitor.

I still hope will be checked one day.

This is crazy, I'm on mission "to  Kill all the flys on England sky" ? Makes you laugh and cry, how can people use to it in multiplayer ?

Hello Guys

I've made the programmer who did the update aware.

Can you also enter this bug in the Bugtracker?

Thanks  ?

I posted the same issue some time ago, 0:19s and forward (set quality to highest and use full screen)

I was trying to judge the distance and suddenly by 0:23s  I felt like this

Could people who experience this try the following:

- Go to "Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover"

- Open "conf.ini" in a text editor

- Go down to [core]

- Search for a line that says "MeshShowLod=" and manually set it to 1

Perhaps this fixes it?
I have set it this way and have never seen these graphical artifacts.

did the tests here, same results

2560x1080 and 1920x 1080 still looks the same

also i added the icons to planes, they only full render the plane once it 1km away, so should be easier to pinpoint what is going on

to make the tests -

quick mission, dogfight even - don't change anything, start as 109 and you should be able to replicate the "moskito morphing shape"

check this out, I did a clip of the issue. details (very high)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t45BquVwCXm-O-NiyU8ry2z6PA8eATaG/view?usp=drive_link

-update

another round of tests, tested from ultra very high to very low, same results (both resolutions)

Sorry for the delay in the answer as I had to reinstall the game (after the last pc purge I didn't have it), I tried but no difference, I still have the effect.

If you have any other test that I can make just let me know, is a paint in the ass to play like this because you can't judge plane's angles.

An issue to be fixed still. No setting will get rid of it until TFS applies a fix.

It is to be expected,  currently there is nothing coming out from TFS.
