Warning: HP Reverb G2--Broken Head Strap

For all of HP Reverb G2 owners, the sides of the head strap can break apart without too much effort, so I suggest that you handle the G2 head strap with care!  Mine broke this week and I am searching for a way to repair or replace the head strap.  I ordered a replacement that is on a slow boat from China; however, seeing how it looks difficult to remove the remnants of the old strap, it will be interesting to see how the new strap is supposed to go on.  Any suggestions appreciated--wish me luck.

I swapped mine out with the Quest 3 BoboVR M2. Get it at Amazon and other places. I find it much more comfortable than the stock strap and prefer the halo type tightening mechanism. I always thought that elastic was gonna give it up eventually! It's actually for the Quest but it'll fit the G2. It's only a minor project. You have to remove the original G2 strap. This one slips over the parts on either side of the headset. It's too tight of a fit as it is and has to be heated with either a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen it up but once you have it on there it's like it was made for it.

Here's a vid showing the retrofit:

@Drano  Thank you for the information and video.

I also found a link to instructions on how to disassemble the head strap, which is at https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/ish_3883513-3883575-16 .  This seems to lead to the idea that a replacement head strap exists through HP, but I can't find one probably since they no longer produce this headset.  I will wait for my Chinese replacement to arrive before I resort to more drastic means.
