dgiatr Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 So my only problem with Simtools settings and g-seat implementation in IL2 Sturmovik flight simulator is as follows: As you can see in the upper image each servo that controls my air bags is named as "Axis1a" , "Axis2a", e.t.c. So by the time i want to roll left or right on "Axis 1a" and "Axis 4a" servos, i put sway 100% and roll rate 100% forces. If i fly straight ahead (zero degrees roll angle) and decide to roll left from there my roll rate works fine and gives movement to servos "Axis 1a" or "Axis 4a". These are the servos that controls air bags placed left and right underneath me , so i feel g-forces from the low part of my seat( where i sit not from the back of my seat i mean) every time i roll left or right . In case i delete "sway" forces from "Axis 1a" and "Axis 4a" then roll rate works fine every time i roll left or right NO MATTER THE INITIAL DEGREES I START ROLLING. I mean if i am not completely level ( zero degrees roll angle i mean i am completely level) , and say start rolling from 40 degrees initial roll angle ( in comparison to horizontal level) either left or right then roll rate works fine and pushes my air bags. But in case i also have "sway" forces plus roll rate forces to "Axis 1a" and "Axis 4a" then roll rate WONT WORK as i would. In that case, say i start rolling fast again from initial roll angle of 40 degrees compared to horizontal level then ROLL RATE WILL NOT GIVE ME ANY REACTION UNTIL MY PLANE PASSES FROM THE POINT OF ZERO DEGREES ROLL ANGLE AND AFTER THEN IT STARTS TO REACT TO ROLL RATE. I mean while rolling : 40 , 30 , 20, 10, 0 ( only now and after that point my servo reacts to roll rate) , -10 ( servo reacts), -20( servo reacts), -30 (servo reacts), e.t.c. , the same to the other direction. No matter how many % percentage i set sway or roll rate i will face the same issue. I tried "anti rollover" to roll rate forces on axis assignment but nothing changed. I also checked telemetry data in min/max tuning of Simtools while flying and data from il2 seems ok , i mean every time i roll fast to the right i get positive values of roll rate and negative while on the other direction ( or the contrary i dont remember ) NO MATTER THE INITIAL ROLL ANGLE COMPARED TO HORIZONTAL LEVEL FROM WHERE I START ROLLING. I keep "sway" forces to Axis 1a and 4a because i want to fell sway g-forces on my body on the low left-right sides of my seat while turning with my plane. So do you have any ideas how to solve that issue?

Srs has port forwarding in Il2 games tab. For now i experimentally work together Srs with Simtools by activating port forwarding from Srs ( dof motion platform) to Simtools ( my next Diy project for pneumatic g-seat ). Simshaker has a dedicated port to work ( i think 29373)..so put that number inside Srs port forwarding ( i think with the same ip address number) and see what it will do. The config file of il2 will be exactly as Srs declares for il2 to work. Let me know... Hi dgiatr - Long overdue answer because I didn't end up needing the SRS* porting when I only had SRS & Simshaker running since I used the "addr1 =" method in the startup.cfg file instead. *For anyone new to this - Sim Racing Studio motion software for the DoF Reality Rigs (not the Radio software). However, I received a VPForce Rhino last week (more on that later when I have a chance to really get it set up), and needed 3 telemetry devices to run the TelemFFB software. It involved a bit of trial and error, but I ultimately could not get the SRS port forwarding to work to either SimShaker or the Rhino (I am sure there must be a way, but I didn't find it). @Andre's "advanced options" came to the rescue because forwarding from SimShaker to SRS does work. I used IP Address: 127.0.0.1 & Port : 4322. Andre's exchange last year with @truelynolen below was helpful, thank you Andre! Edited July 27, 2024 by Varibraun 1

Hi Varibraun, Nice to hear you have VPForce Rhino, tell me how it goes when you have news about it. Srs port forwarding works for me when it sends data to simtools for activating my diy pneumatic g-seat. Between srs and simshaker I changed il2 start config file as Andre indicated. dgiatr Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 (edited) So after some time i post my new upgrades here : 1. Rhino Vp force ffb base kit plus virpil constellation stick 2. Rhino vp force ffb MFG rudder pedals modification 3. Active seat belt via arduino and simtools ................. Edited February 6 by dgiatr
dgiatr Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 (edited) Very happy with the upgrades , joystick and rudder pedals suddenly came alive! The only drawback about Rhino ffb MFG rudder pedals modification is that motor turns a little hot so i always use an air fan to keep it cool. I also use the initial spring holding it in place via one zip tie in order to get stronger spring effect. All effects work fine as in the case of Rhino ffb joystick... Using also two exciters as on the relevant attached picture under each of the MFG rudder pedal for some more vibrations via simshaker wings. Active seat belt gives very nice immersion feeling especially during accelaration and turning.... Edited February 6 by dgiatr 1

I really appreciate you posting all of the photos, especially with your VPforce settings. 1
