BMA_FlyingShark Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Have a nice day.
354thFG_Panda_ Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Awesome update, thank you developers. Especially for this change: 16 3 4
Jade_Monkey Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Just remember that you have to keep the button pushed like in real life, not just one keystroke.
Juri_JS Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 A question for the devs: Where the PD-MM containers of the Li-2 also used by the U-2VS? U-2VS flew cargo drop missions to the Myskhako and Eltigen bridgeheads. It would be great if we could do the same in the game. 2
sevenless Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Quote As you can see from the change list below, there are many improvements to Career Mode that we hope you like. More are on the way! ? 1
FTC_Oakwoodson Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 (edited) Were any new types of transport missions added with this update? I'm not seeing any mention of it in the change log. I was hoping they'd be released with the release of LI2. Edited September 20, 2023 by FTC_Oakwoodson

Yes, one of the new career missions is dropping supplies to partisans behind the lines at night. 4
kestrel79 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 The fuel switch thing is a pretty cool surprise! So does that mean if you don't switch tanks, the aircraft can become unbalanced and it will effect flight performance? Or does this switch just show how much is left in each tank?

Have a nice day.

It is just a control for which tank the gauge is showing a reading from. The tank flow is still handled automatically by the AI "hind-brain". Unrelated, but I strongly recommend people try the artillery spotting in the U-2 sneaking along at treetop hight tryng to evade fighters and avoid AAA is tremendous fun. 2 1

Could a full list be made public somewhere at a later time please? Would love to know what I have to look forward to. The partisan supply drop, I'm guessing that's for the LI2 only and none of that on the western front for French resistance or other movements in western Europe? 1
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Luke, Any hints when the British version N17 might be released ?
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 The fuel switch control is really a nice little surprise. Everything what pushes the feeling of realism forward is highly welcome ? Would be really nice if we can get the Kurssteuerung for Bf 110, Ju 88 and the Heinkel‘s, it’s already active in the Me 410…. ?❤️?❤️?❤️ 1 1
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 (edited) Really like the Albatros DII engine sound. Good to see damage model correction, airframe = wings? I noticed myself that Nieuport 11 wings were flying off immediately when pulled more than 2+ G after taking damage from machine gun burst to the one wing. Edited September 20, 2023 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Career: enemy night fighters can be encountered near the front line Really ? Means the boring time is finished where I didn’t have to expect any resistance in the sky while night missions?? ??? ??? 1

Yes, the supply drops to partisans are a Li-2-only thing right now. Otherwise, all the new mission types are in the change log. The Intruder missions are focused primarily on the Mosquito on the Allied side and the Me 410s of II./KG 51 and the Fw 190s of I./SKG 10 on the German side. Hopefully, that covers everything. ? 24 minutes ago, RNAS10_Mitchell said: Luke, Any hints when the British version N17 might be released ? Looking at the discussions internally, the Hanriot HD.1 is next. If you have a look at the roadmap posted here, you can follow the expected release of planes from the bottom of the image to the top. So, unless something changes, the order of release for the next FC planes is: Hanriot HD.1 R.E.8 F.E.2b British Nieuport 17 2 2
simfan2015 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Fantastic update, as always ! Thank You all.

Not to give too much away, but in the new Li-2 supply-dropping mission your crewmen will try to fool the German AAA about your identity, but it doesn't always work. 5 1
blockheadgreen_ Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Any hint as to when we might hear about the new WWII collectors planes? Interested to see the La-5F, Spit IX and Ta 152.

Justicier Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Quote enemy free hunters removed from transport missions in all career timeframes Not sure if I am reading that correctly, but does this mean that there is no possibility of being attacked by enemy fighters during transport flights?
FTC_Oakwoodson Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 (edited) Luke, could we expect to see how WACOs development is going in the next Devblog? Are you allowed to share whether we'll be able to snatch WACOs from the ground mid flight? I.e evacuate them for re-usage if you will. Edited September 20, 2023 by FTC_Oakwoodson

kestrel79 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Love the new mission variety! I can't wait to start a transport pilot career with an armed Li-2!
Yogiflight Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 The fuel gauge switch control is a nice adding. But why only the FW 190 D9 and not the four As? So we can get fuel gauge switch controls implemented, what about animated bombs safety switches? 11. Career: enemy night fighters can be encountered near the front line during night combat patrol missions; Can you also encounter night fighters during night bombing missions with the Me 410 or the FW 190? Many thanks to @Oyster_KAI for again correcting incorrect spellings in a German aircraft. 1

Given that there are still other planes ahead of it in the pipeline, there probably won't be any news about it til the November time frame. As for mission types with it, I've asked about that (in particular, towing of it by C-47), but the response is that the feature list for it is still being finalized since this is such a new and unique plane in the IL2 roster. 43 minutes ago, JG4_Moltke1871 said: Last question: Can expect night fighters on any map? There wasn't enough time to add it to the A series (the Ju 87, Il-2s and the I-16 also are waiting for this feature to be added). This was added right at the end of beta testing, hence why I thought it wasn't going to make it into this release. ? I mentioned the animated bomb safety switches to Gavrick (he's the one who took over from Petrovich), and he said he's going to see if it can be added. There are also a few Soviet planes that are still lacking that feature. Encountering night fighters on night bombing missions: I think so, but I didn't get the chance to test this. 3 2 5

Canvas25 Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Spitfire Mk.V, Spitfire Mk.IX, and P-38 aircraft have the fuel gauge button control implemented (P-38 has a remaining fuel reserve control button). The button is no longer pressed "automatically" from time to time, you have to press and hold the button to operate the fuel gauge (RShift + I by default); Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Years ago, I was showing my wife what a wonderful flight sim this was, and of course the first question she had was "why is the fuel gauge going up and down all the time?" 3
sevenless Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Just have to tell you. Those career night-intruder missions with the mossie are fun, fun, fun. Flying for No.418 sqd, I wrecked two Ju 88-C6 at 0:20hours above Saint Andre. ? 2 1
Varibraun Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Alb DII - Missing gun telemetry vibration for me (also still missing on Nieuport 11, but is fine for the new 17). Speaking of which - Thank you for the Nieuport 17!!

A little report about the famous Becker Gun in the Albatros: Absolutely devastating against soft targets like cars/vans and artillery with HE shells ? I was wondering about that can’t destroy a balloon with HE ammo only… I expected I can shred a balloon with HE‘s but nothing happens… is that correctly? Only with AP ammo it works (mixed magazines not tested) Also I hoped can destroy Tanks with AP Ammo but this failed also.. I make a lot of hits from left/right sides, top front and top rear on a Mark V tank, nothing happens… ?. Also no success with hits on Renaults and Schneider tanks. I don’t know the damage model is wrong or not but I expected can penetrate WW1 tanks Armour with that 20 mm Ammo.??♂️ ??BTW: when the cable van pull down the balloon in danger situation the balloon will start to burn/explode when it arrives the ground ???
