spreckair Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I am currently flying single player career in Battle of Moscow (February time frame). I experience two problems: 1. If the enemy AI "sees" me first, they become exclusively fixated on me even if I drag them through a flight of friendly fighters and bombers. Nothing will shake them off of me... 2. ...so then I turn tail and run (yes I can be a coward when the alternative is fighting five enemy aircraft alone). With my superior air speed I drag them into my territory for a while, and then in a blink of an eye they totally disappear, like they logged off in multi-player, which we are not in. I turn around and search for them, but they no longer exist (alien abduction?). So, scratching my head a lot. Almost hairless.
Billsponge1972 Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I've had the disappearing aircraft happened to me also but in single player offline mode. I think it has to do with the mission creator deactivating AI aircraft . In online career mode I'm not sure.

Usually (I think) this is caused by the AI judging you to be a priority target, for whatever reason, and then becoming fixated on you. It can also be caused by faulty mission logic explicitly telling the AI to specifically target you. 14 hours ago, spreckair said: 2. ...so then I turn tail and run (yes I can be a coward when the alternative is fighting five enemy aircraft alone). You want to despawn enemies that are no longer relevant to the mission, in order to save resources. However, there should be some kind of a trigger that first checks if the player isn't closer than a certain threshold, before actually deleting the objects. In both cases, you can report the issue here so that the Devs can have a look at it: Note that you'll need to attach a recording or the generated mission file (_gen.Mission in data\Missions contains the most recent mission generated by IL2).
spreckair Posted September 19, 2023 Author Posted September 19, 2023 @AEthelraedUnraed Thank you for your input. It happens to me frequently, so I will try to send it in as you described.
