jollyjack Posted August 20, 2023 Author Posted August 20, 2023 (edited) Nope, in the (new) officials, Nieuport 11, and some others in the HalberstadtD2: Edited August 20, 2023 by jollyjack 1
szelljr Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) Yes , not easy to use the template (Nieuport 11)... But is a complex , god template , with many , many, many layers . With the original skins !! You can use parts from there. So its cool , but you need patience and time.( or speaking in Russian ? ) Edited August 21, 2023 by szelljr 1
Trooper117 Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Is this putting it in Russian a recent thing, or has it always been that way?
szelljr Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) ...but is ok. PLS. don t 'clean' the template like the Schuckert D VI Template ( SSW D.IV / Art by Yugra Media ) . Metal parts , color , lozenge is all in 1 layer !! ? I think is better if same layers is in Russian , but we have 50+ layer , not in one layer all parts. Yes , i want the Albatros DII Template with 100+ layers . ? many layers= easy skining few layers= ? ? Edited August 21, 2023 by szelljr 2 3
R7-S276 Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 (edited) Not sure I write this in the right place, but the template for the Nieuport 11 is in .psb format (Nieuport11_Public.psb), it would be great to let all the template in the usual .psd format please... Edited December 16, 2023 by R7-S276
PaulTheSalty Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 @R7-S276 .psd and .psb are both Photoshop files. The reason we're getting .psb now is because the template files are larger due to having more layers. It can be a little trickier to get them open outside of Photoshop, but its much better for skinning to have details split up across multiple layers. Plus the N11 template has all of the official skins included so you can use those to help make your own designs. If you're trying to open them in GIMP (that's what I use), start with Photopea. https://www.photopea.com/ Load your N11 template there, delete all of the skin layers to reduce the size. Then convert all of the detail layers (shadows, grime, parts, markings) to a .psb. If you want those skin layers you can reopen the original template and then just delete all the detail layers you've already converted to .psb. Save that as a seperate .psb and then open both in GIMP and combine them. Be sure to save your new template before working! Here's a copy that you should be able to load into GIMP. If that's what you use then it'll save you all that hassle. https://drive.google.com/file/d/19B86adptDiirt6khwJSYILRYLv4WbUS2/view?usp=drive_link 1
R7-S276 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 (edited) Thank you for the answer, PaulTheSalty, I will try this way and your link will help a lot. - last minute info: I just found an other way, the Gimp development version https://www.gimp.org/downloads/devel/ is able to open the .psb exactly like Photopea. stormvac Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 The psb files that contain many layers will typically contain a wire mesh layer. This wire mesh layer corresponds to the skin as it presents itself in the file. Is it possible to access a wire mesh that shows other views, for example will contain cross sections of the 3D model? Also, is it possible to obtain a view of where the various features in the skin reside on the 3D model?
PaulTheSalty Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 I'm not aware of any other tools that make it easier to locate parts outside of the wire mesh layer, the colored 4-quadrant semi-transparent Finder layer, and opening up the skin viewer application.
stormvac Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I am new to this. How do I access the colored 4-quadrant semi-transparent Finder layer and how do I open up the skin viewer application?

jollyjack Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 That viewer i use almost always when editing skins, and it's a pity you can not use it beyond planes. Tanks, vehicles, stationary planes etc. added would be nice, besides some overhaul of the loading interface. 1 1
Sayan Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Colleagues, please tell me why we have a Sopwith Triplane in the game, but there is no folder for the Triplane in the skins folder? Only Camel, Dolphin, Snipe...
