I can target the ships but cant see any indication's that they than are grouped or in formation at the Advanced propperties menu. PS. Searched for "Il-2 sturmovik ship formation" didnt find any on google. On @JimTM's guide "Ship" and "Formation" was no standing about ships. Regards. ?
Gambit21 Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Don't use the Formation MCU with ships, it works...sort of...but not really as you'll start running into problems. Give each vessel it's own set of waypoints. 2

Something apparently went wrong with storing the text. Did you edit the localization .txt files yourself using a text editor? Otherwise, do you have any strange characters in the text? That could potentially also screw up the mission description.

Gambit21 Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 ANYWAY - OP yes you can get simple functionality with formation logic, it works until it doesn’t. Much better to give each vessel it’s own waypoints, and then you can script/fine tune/modify the behavior of each and basically get exactly what you want, and updates are not likely to break it.

We all know there's little secrets left for you regarding mission design, but there are also other people reading these forums who are less well versed and may end up here through google or the forum's own search function. I think Jollyjack didn't mean it as a reply to your post to tell you how you should implement things, but rather meant to expand on it and help explain to other people what exactly you're talking about. If someone is looking for an example of how you can implement ship formations, the ones by Icky he linked may be useful. 1

The problems was/is that the ships do not move at the same speed you set via the waypoints. I sorry I can't remember who it was but there was a post about the speed issue. I think I still have a sticky-note around here with some info on the speeds. I'll have to look around and see if I can find it. 1
