Hi Mike,

 

A good while back, Pat changed the promotions to slow things down to a more realistic rate (Pat always says to look at Hartmann as an example) that now includes # of missions flown as well as victories (it may even have a time component built in too).  My guess is that you will need 25 missions to see that 1st promotion.  The other aces you see on the board are either historical aces or NPC aces who likely started the campaign at their current rank.

 

A couple of tips to help promotions come faster in game time:

-I use a 3 to 1 mission ratio in the advanced config to simulate no contact flights (use 5 to 1 at the beginning if you want to some more realistic flights to kills for a beginner in the Sqdrn).

-I take 30 days leave whenever I get an award or promotion (I am not certain if time in service is a promotion factor, but it doesn't hurt - plus it is good PR back on the home front, war bonds, interviews, celebrity photo op, etc. ).

 

I hope you see a promotion soon!

I don't know if he changed the award criteria, those may still be that same as that post?  I only remember the change about promotions.
