Jason These new clouds are not only of aesthetic interest. They also allow less trained pilots and less efficient aircraft to use them to smooth out the differences with the enemy. They make it easier to hide, to navigate more discreetly and to attack easily by surprise : to have the best machine is not needed for this (with the old clouds, you could see the planes through). I regret that the improved cloudiness is not used more by the servers I connect to (it even seems to have decreased on at least 1 server since these new clouds are available). Navigation above clouds is also very interesting (especially for bombers / Jabos without cover), because it allows to navigate with more safety. In any case it's a nice improvement even if mission designers don't use them enough actually, in my opinion. Edited January 25, 2022 by Otto_bann 1

That is true. It would be even more interesting if ever we get more navigation options like control over course setters, choosing the base to get guided to by radio compasses and asking a Morse signal from home base. Have a nice day. 1
Otto_bann Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) By using the compass and the stopwatch, it is possible to navigate approximately but with sufficient precision to go to the targets. It is nevertheless necessary to convert the speeds according to the altitude and the season (temperature). Edited January 25, 2022 by Otto_bann

Guest deleted@219798 Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 WTF moment. When I was creating this video I switched the camera to the target plane 110G. FW190 had been trying unsuccessfully to get om my tail. When the 3rd 110 went down, 190 crashed into it. Had a bit of a laugh.

But historically, outstanding work. In the closing months of the war the LW were flying 'bitsers' made up from components salvaged from wrecked aircraft, wrecked and widely dispersed factories, often short of niceties like paint and dope finishing or even much more than basic instrumentation and armament.

Gingerwelsh Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 (edited) Learning the STEditor, continued. Railyard strike, 1944. 10 Typhoons and 2 Mustangs run in from the East, with 2 x 1000 lb each, 3 sec timers. P-47s arrive from the South to attack the workshops with 3 x 500 lb each.. A troop train is about to entre the yard. A-20s arrive from the South West to hit the workshops with 250 pounders. Will the troop train pass through without damage? Nope! This is the first time the whole train was destroyed. A departing coal train was hit and left wagons on the track. The arriving troop train hit the back of it, which left it stopped, square in the path of the A-20 strike. Not what I planned, but fascinating to watch. .. Edited January 28, 2022 by Gingerwelsh 5
Gingerwelsh Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) Learning the STEditor. Rail yard attack. 4 x Moving trains. Short and long range AAA. 8 x Typhoon, plus 2 x Mustang. Followed by 10 A-20 and 10 P-47. Pretty much the max my PC can handle if they all reach the target within 60 seconds. Finally, 10 x A-20 attack, from 7500' A-20s, stitch the yard. OK. Pretty much done with the editor. Time to get back to my career. .. Edited January 30, 2022 by Gingerwelsh 6
