Did you improve the 262 template...?

Yes, I made a few changes on the weathering similar to what was done on the Anton's and late 109s.  Also some minor detail changes but not as major as on the Focke-Wulfs or the 109s.

 

Bf109 G6 Late, G14, K4, Fw190A3, A5, A6, A8 and Me262 all had similar improvements.  I must get those late war 109 and the 262 templates uploaded again.  Then I will revisit the P47s as the weathering on that need updated as well.

I saw this cloud formation while flying last night. I thought it looked interesting so I turned back to explore. Getting closer, it looked like it had multiple layers. As it turned out, it had a deep trough for lack of a better word along the edge with an overhang above and a ledge below that I flew in. It took over six minutes at a cruise of 250mph to fly the majority of it. If the online calculator is correct, that would make that cloud mass well over 25 miles across. Pretty impressive.

WiP on the new weathering for the P47D22.  I did the P47D-28 as one of my first 4K official reskins and hard to believe that was back in Nov 2018.  I have learned a lot since then and at least for me the differences in the new weathering are quite stark.

 

For me the key is more subtle and targetted weathering while allowing the paint underneath the dirt to show through. 

 

I learned that if you aim to make it look like a mess, then it will look like a mess.

I agree. Subtle, to me anyway, looks more realistic. Nice job on the P-47 camo. Looks great.

I do agree they lose some definition up close and also have some banding but overall (like you and most others), I find them excellent.
