kraut1 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Hi, I found an area in the mountains that is suitable for taking off/ landing for slow planes. I have already defined a primitive Airfield that works with EMG by Vander. I would like mark the airstrip, because some regions are not flat enough for taking off. Do we have some Block objects like fabric signs that could be used to mark a runway? I found only the small road signs (arrow left / right), but they are far to small. Thanks in advance! JimTM Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 You could use the "land_canvas" object, under the "Vehicles" category (of course). 1

Do we have a small fire? Yes, use "landfire", under "Effects". For more details, see "Mark a Runway With Bonfires", on pg. 56 of the editor manual. 1

If you generate a transport mission you'll see how the land_canvas objects can be used. The default fire near the runway tower can be used for runway markers as well. 1

Yes, I will soon post a preliminary release of the modified EMG and the mission. With the WW1 Bristol Fighter take off is easy. I was able to take off / land with a Aichi Val (Ju87) what is more difficult and I was able sometimes to take off with a P40 but landing did not work. AI is able to take off with the Bristol fighter but I suppose AI is not able to land, it will collide with the mountains. So the Kokoda Airstrip is in first line for player controlled special transport missions. I will try out other slower WW2 planes. For testing "japanese" planes I will have to complete at first a new further front line where Kokoda is occupied by axis. attached 1 test mission only for take off / landing practise test-Kokoda-runway-marker-F.zip Edited April 4, 2023 by kraut1
