Lots of good changes in there! The new crew option for the Pe-2 is a very pleasant surprise I never expected to see

 

Flying Circus 3 I will buy as soon as available. Hope the float planes can still come to the modern sim in some form? I noticed they weren't listed in any of the plans

Major problem here. I just tried to fly on Normandy only to get an error message #10039 saying the map isn't available on my account. Goes for both Normandy maps, so far doesn't seem to affect other maps. I do of course own Normandy so no idea what has gone wrong with the update but something  has.

I'm excited to see FCIII is in the works. I will immediately buy at first opportunity. I want Great Battles to keep living!

Thanks for the patch.
 

As much as I enjoy corrections like "Pe-2 Ser. 87: fixed the texture of the machine gun trigger guard in the upper turret (regular and closed)", is there any plans of making the Mosquito navigator act like a gunner and inform about enemy planes?

same here, got all the maps, verified in my account that the keys are activated etc. still getting this error.

No, nothing has been said about that.

 

And with that, let's keep the discussion to the update that was just posted and not speculation about things you want to be added in the future. ? I'll help keep the discussion that much more coherent.

I got a #10039 error for Normandy too.

 

I'm not happy as I'm in the middle of a pilot career. I've checked all of the other maps in Quick Mission and Normandy is the only one affected.

Does the game even start if you have the old version? At least for me it doesn't. I patched up and both maps work fine in quick mission.

Yes. I just updated with the new version and I went in to try the new Spitfire.

The first mission I tried to run after the update threw that error msg for me. I exited the game and when I re-started it Normandy was loading fine.

More sexy  nieuports on the way. So cool. Sad though that the eindecker isn't included in the main FC3 release. 

Nieup 11 and the Eindecker go so well together.

Best news of this year... Yes ! FC 3 and more planes! 

Credit card can't wait. 

I don't expect it, but a TC 2 would make GB even more complete. 

The new FC western map could even be useful for TC with a bit of imagination. Maybe a few collector WW I tanks would be sufficient for that WW I TC 2!?

Everyone who have issue with Normandy access - restart the game in online mode - now it should work ok.

It would be so awesome to get the G model with it's far better command cupola in comparison to the D model's one ore can I now control the G-model? (Since I got Track IR, I realy enjoy the look around from the StuG-cupola).

 

But nontheless, a great update with many improvments.

OMG - so much good news about FC going forward.  Too bad the seaplanes aren't on the (published) roadmap yet - I hope they can make it into some future iteration of FC - maybe even as Collector Planes, but in the meantime it looks like we'll be getting lots of new birds to play with along the way.  Can't wait to check out the new map stuff and AI improvements mentioned.

 

I'm sure there's also some cool WWII stuff in this update, but my eyes glazed over and I had to stop reading to clean up the drool from reading all the WWI stuff ?

This raises some major questions:

 

1. What happened to the Floatplanes/Seaplanes? Will they remain only in Rise of Flight? Or will we eventually see them in an additional expansion?

 

2. Will have FCIV (FC3.5?) just those six aircraft or will the list be expanded to have ten aircraft? There are some great possible additions - particularly there is a need for early war two-seaters (e.g. Caudron G.4, Voisin VIII, Morane-Saulnier L) - however, there are also some very interesting 1917 designs that saw at least four months of service (Airco DH.5 and Moraine-Saulnier AI) as well as a couple of later war designs people would like (Roland D.VIb, Spad XII). So there is definite room for growth if both sets of developers feel it'd be financially viable.

 

3. Will the Airco DH.2 get field modifications this time around (e.g. alternative fuel tank, second Lewis gun, flexible Lewis gun, Le Prieur rockets, Maxim gun or ...37mm cannon)? In Rise of Flight it had no field modifications available (not even Le Prieur rockets or the early fuel tank)!

 

Anyway - It is great to hear about the constant map improvements. I am looking forward to pre-ordering.

 

P.S. Also, the Roland C.II could have both a Lewis gun and a flower pot field mod ? For the record!

Is there an earlier meaning of Left Win+1? Can’t find anywhere in the manuals, just want the radio command set for recon on my equipment…. I deleted a lot of the original keybinds ?
