stiboo Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 We can do a Ju52 Skin for the He111?!! he he he! Can anyone remember what fake skins we used in old IL2 before more planes were added? PE2 for Do17Z? Gladiator/ Polikarpov I-15 for WW1 JU52 for Italian Cant there must be loads more.... any way - I agree that more AI aircraft would have made a much better single player experience and much more scope for mission/campaign designers and the game will be unfinished for the next 2-3 years... BUT - I didn't even get into designing campaigns for the old IL2 until the game was 5 years old! So must always keep that in my mind.... Funny how modern simulations take longer to develop than the actual real war took! Scary! .
Sokol1 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) ... stated (above) that the He111 is "more suited for winter conditions, better navigation in bad weather" http://www.stalingrad.net/german-hq/the-stalingrad-airlift/facts_airlift.htm He 111 have "course autopilot" (Kussteurung), AFN-2 for RDF navigation and blinding landing (on equipped airport). Accord the above link in one occasion, due bad weather only He 111 delivery cargo into the pocket. 21st Monday 40 He 111 . 79 tons . Ammo / Fuel/ Food Medical supply The weather was too bad for the Ju 52 to take-off. Until Ju-52 came (maybe later as add-on...) is only needed a kind of cargo pallet/parachute canister for fly the "Stalingrad Airlift" with the He 111 - and better armed to surprise those looking only for a easy kill in MP scenery. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/99/Bundesarchiv_Bild_101I-667-7133-03%2C_Russland%2C_Verpflegungsabwurfkiste.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eUHhG9HRuCY/U3hXZ95vNVI/AAAAAAAAYN4/pcIKPLgEBUE/s400/He111+and+canisters.jpg http://www.fjr2.be/gr-Falschirmj%E4ger-394.jpg http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq190/gtbpappy/ebay187.jpg http://www.fallschirmjager.net/Vehicles/DropCanister/technical/Fl%2029611.jpg ? http://www.fallschirmjager.net/Vehicles/DropCanister/historic/behalt6.jpg Obviously this does not make the Ju-52 dispensable, but it's better than nothing. lying from Tacynskaja airfield with supplies Tatsinskaya is ~ 260KM away from Stalingrad - about a hour or more to fly in Ju-52, probable very few online pilots "volunteer" for these flights. badgerbrown Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 If we don't have the Ju-52 in the game, how will we ever get the supplies INTO Stalingrad and the wounded out??? Seriously though, I HAVE to believe they are going to add it - there is just too many missions to create & develop around it.
Brano Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 If we don't have the Ju-52 in the game, how will we ever get the supplies INTO Stalingrad and the wounded out??? digging tunels?
=38=Tatarenko Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Actually the He111 is plenty good enough for the air bridge although the Ju52 would have been great too. It's a tougher target and in reality flew many of the missions plus it offers a varied career in a campaign rather than only transport.
ParaB Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Yeah, the 111 will do but it would certainly be nice to get the Ju-52, even if as AI only plane.
Shaun85 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) hey im Shaun and this is my first post been playing il 2 bos for round 23 hours and im loving it i got most of the basics down for successful takes ofs and landings in full relism servers and i usually fly supplies or the il2 if i want to doo some shooting got my saitek x45 that i bought when il2 1946 came out its a little squeaky but it works and a little unstable when it comes to shooting small targets... but back to the topic i like flying transport in multiplayer we could get this so we could do like cargo drops pera drops to take airfields or maybe do extractions missions:) this is from a post i did i sent it for delete sins there was a topical already Edited November 24, 2014 by Shaun85

150GCT_Veltro Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Not necessary Look what I found in the last 1.006 update : image.jpg Nice find. Would be interesting begin to test online the trigger with Ju-52 AI as resupply transport.
Sim Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Looks like it's Ju 52/3mg4e? And that texture file must be a very early work-in-progress stuff (compared to other plane textures). Edited November 25, 2014 by Sim
Feathered_IV Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 Looks like a ground object texture judging from its size. Which sub folder did you find it in Pierre?
I./JG1_Baron Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Not necessary Look what I found in the last 1.006 update : image.jpg Good job mister Sherlock
Georgio Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Nice find, is it new or has it been lurking so to speak? Seriously we need this plane ingame even if it's just AI for resupply/escort missions once the pocket gets closed.

-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I cant draw any solid conclusions about what will or will not ever be added to this program - You cant draw them and the developers cant draw them All we have to go by is the certain understanding that the people developing this program are: 1) Combat Flight Sim Enthusiasts like us only more so because they came to the position of creators 2) Deeply Knowledgeable about the theatre of operations (BoS) and the airwar in general 3) Deeply knowledgeable about orders of battle and the equipment used as well as its relative importance to the battle field 4) Aware of what we as a community want to see, what we deem necessary to have included (at some point) to generate the illusuive ond overworked 'immersion factor' 5) Aware of their own limitations in Time, Money and Longevity - the last being dependant on the second, in a rolling reality as the orders come...or dont come in I trust that Jason and the rest of this team will do what they can..as much as they can in the best way that they can, based on the above indications.. I do not know if that will match what I WANT or what you WANT or what anyone else WANTS But I know they will do whatever they can do - to do this right Thats enough for me - but maybe not for you... I would suggest you do not preorder I would suggest you wait a year or more to find out what they were thinking - maybe by then we can all know just like RoF - people thought it was a huge rip off scam when it was released...NO PATIENCE - but had they just heard about it yesterday? Oh MAN, what a great simulator SO MANY PLANES one last thing and I'm done - AS to Jason's replies to you that you deem impolite If I had worked for a number of months - what is it 7, 8 9 months solid and put so much of myself into a project, and been as forthright as I could be with the weekly updates and information and forum presence all while working away as hard as I think most of us realise they have worked...only to see some really unfriendly...trashing...for lack of a better word - of his project, his people, and his integrity and character...all from the community he is striving to provide a quality product for - I think I would have said far worse things, but thats just me +10
