 I saw the recent update report (by someone other than Buzz), and scanned the many lines for any mention of VR, not having seen anything, or missed it altogether due to scanning speed (I don't have time to waste, oh wait a minute, I'm on this forum) I left the post unimpressed. Blah, blah.blah and yadda, yadda, yadda.

How long ago was the last promise of letting VR users in? I still haven't received an answer to whether or not Buzz needs another pic of my headset.

Well, since Patch 5.036 was released today it goes to show that this game is NOT dead. The same goes with IL-2 GBs, just because a new installment or the content of the new installment hasn’t been announced yet doesn’t mean that the game is dead

We expect to add another group of testers in the near future... how long exactly I don't know... it depends on the progress made by our programmers.

 

Right now, new testers would generally confirm what we already know.

Sorry, I don't follow the logic. How can more testers be a bad thing, you have your known list of issues so they can ignore those but if they come across any others even by dint of having a greater number of users connected it can only be good. Not to mention the opportunity to make people happy by letting them play in VR and, let's be honest, you could do with opening up a little bit just for the good PR.

I think its better to have people who are intimately familar with the game than a hoard of chancers personally. Im a little  (but not very) sorry for all othse who bought DWT on the promse of a VR golden ticket but owning a headset doesnt make someone a good beta tester. I get the inital open invite from the point of view of testing if certain hardware works as intended but that box appears to have been ticked. From experience the more is merrier method leads to many duplicated "issues" being discovered that are already known about whilst some of the less sexy but important aspects of the game are overlooked/misinterpreted in complete ignorance. It also produces ridiculous hypothesis and much arsing about. None of this is aimed at Hoots or Snowdon BTW who may very well be good testers but it is a wheat and chaff thing.

Yeah that's fair, makes sense especially when considered along with the 85% complete stat Buzz mentioned.

Well even if individuals bought DW-T on a misguided assumption that they needed to do that in order to apply for access to the "private" beta it still represents "money well spent". They can enjoy DW-T, just on flatsceen for the next year or so if need be ?

Which game ever conceived didn't have bugs addressed by patches throughout their lives. If the bugs are indicator of a beta build then they're all beta builds. So we might sway Clod is in beta with or without VR. Just open it to VR users like the it's opened to flat screeners, a bug is a bug whether its on a monitor or a headset.

 

 Right now I need not report anything to anyone and really won't make a peep if only I can play the game I bought years ago in anticipation of VR being implemented at some reasonable time in the future. I'll sign the non disclosure (or whatever they call it) and keep my mouth shut about anything I see in the game. This way they wont have to worry about me double reporting bugs or trees or what have you. That will remedy the issue of many duplicated "issues". I don't give a rat's pituitary gland about any of that, I just want to play a game I've been holding on to for a few years now and, as I feel that we've passed the "Reasonable amount of time" to address the VR issue, which is the ONLY reason I invested any more into the game. To play ClOD in VR, that's all, I'm not interested in anything else as it relates to ClOD. 

  It would be different if it wasn't in ClOD at all. But it is, broken or otherwise, and since I'm an adult, if I find it isn't something I can't tolerate I'll quietly put my toy away until someone fixes it.

Better they should never had announced VR at all then to take 5 years to deliver the goods. Yes I bought it without VR, but the word was is was coming, now how long shall it remain coming? Is it the future yet?

When I first saw the post above I recognized it as so ambiguous it would generate hard feelings out of proportion to any sales that might result. I do not think that anyone who purchased DW-T in order to accept said offer should be assumed to be incapable of providing useful input to the Team. Thanks!

There's one thing I can say ClOD VR has shown me, I'm way behind in the graphics card upgrade dept. I began reading the ATAG VR forum and didn't find anyone listing my card as part of their specs. No 1080 TI's to be seen.

You should be able to play in 2D with that card no problem.... in VR you would need to turn down your distance and visual quality settings quite a bit.

 

Most guys are using 2080's/3080's to get good performance.

 

We have a chart with recommended settings on the VR forums.

same here, works great for 2d (200+ fps) 

 

But for VR, you will going to need that juicy upgrade, i am saving for it just because of this game.

 

first i will upgrade the mobo and processor (i5-6600k still) maybe that can help a little bit, but not sure how many fps gain i will have using 1080ti, can't upgrade the whole thing $$$$

I upgraded from a 6600k to an AMD 5600x last year. A big performance difference you can pick up a CPU/MB bundle for a pretty good price. E.g. https://www.awd-it.co.uk/amd-ryzen-5-5600x-eight-core-4-6ghz-gigabyte-b550m-ds3h-motherboard-cpu-bundle.html

 

Rtx 4060 ti is due out on the 24th May and a 16gb version in July. One of these might be worth considering. Or wait and see what the AMD rx 7700xt or 7800xt look like!?

On a flat screen I get a good 80+ FPS. VR on the other hand... not complaining, it's just one of those things, the sun will come up just the same tomorrow morning. Saving pennies for a 3070 TI or maybe a 3080 Ti.

Steve's (Gamer Nexus) and Linus' (LTT) reviews weren't good at all for the 8 Gb 4060 Ti. .. It really isn't an option for anything above 1080p from their reviewsand barely an upgrade from the 30 series.

Yes. I saw. Not a good option at all. Very disappointing. I think they are hoping to sell this on DLSS alone.

Did all the above, just recently.

Got an email and replied with the necessary information (headset, ID, proof).

Still no word if I can join the VR BETA (or not).

Never had problems getting access to a BETA of a VR title or whatever.
