Hello @SYN_Vander!

I've been using your Mission generator for a while now, and I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed with its ability to create complex missions with ease. However, I would like to propose a suggestion to further enhance its capabilities. It would be great to have a Patrol Mission type included in the list of available scenarios. Historically, patrol missions were widespread on the front, and incorporating this type of mission would add more depth and variety to the already fantastic options.

Thank you for your time and dedication to this program and its users!

Thanks! I have also been wanting to add this. Perhaps I'll work on it this weekend. So basically you would get some patrol area assigned, perhaps two waypoints. Victory conditions? In real life you would be successful if you just show up in the area.

Our ideas seem to be similar. My suggestion is the flight would receive an assigned area between two waypoints, which could be over friendly or enemy targets such as bridges, artillery, ground forces, ect, or a specific area on the front line. The target box in the Mission Generator would specify what target this area would be over. The objective would be to remain within this area for a set amount of time to achieve victory. If the flight left the area, the timer would not reset, but would simply stop counting. This means that if the flight returned to the area, it would not need to restart its patrol time. I was also thinking the target difficulty setting could control the size and time required to stay in the area. The higher the difficulty, the longer a flight would have to stay in the area.

Am I on the right track with this idea? Would you like me to develop on it further?

Thanks again!

Well, yeah... but this is basically how the current 'Intercept' scenario works. If the enemy flight has a target to attack, then the intercept location is determined as somewhere in between the target and enemy home base and the intercept flight will cycle between waypoints that cover the intercept location.
