[80 years ago today] "• The second Boeing XB-29 prototype catches fire and crashes into a meat-packing plant north of Seattle during testing. All ten aboard the aircraft and nineteen on the ground are killed.

By the way, a little known fun fact about the B-29, it is the first "fly by wire" aircraft i ever heard of. Because the C-1 Autopilot was steerable via an "sidestick", primarily used for formation flying.
