JGr2/J5_Baeumer Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) Since the Flugpark mission went from 3 hours in length to 4 it means that when a mission begins on Sunday nights 1900 GMT (European) the mission ends one hour later than had been usual (2300 GMT) than historically was the case (2200 GMT) when missions were 3 hours long. 11pm on a Sunday night is too late for European players to be expected to fly and most end up leaving earlier which leads to a much smaller player base the last hour of the mission when it begins at 1900 GMT. The proposal is to officially begin the missions one hour earlier at 1800 GMT to account for this so that the mission end generally coincides with the European schedules. Many weeks this has already been the case, with the mission beginning most weeks as early as 1700 GMT but usually between 1800-1900 GMT. Mission start times have never been guaranteed depending on mission end times earlier in the week, although there are attempts to restart the mission between 1800-1900 GMT. Please indicate your preference for start time in the attached advisory poll. Edited August 25, 2023 by J5_Baeumer 1
JGr2/J46_Sturm Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 After reading the rational to the poll I would like to change my Vote to 1800 GMT.
Wilkinson Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 I made a mistake while voting. I would like to change it to 1800 GMT. Sorry for the mistake.
=OPFR=ColNinny Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 @J5_Baeumer@No.56-Sqn_Wilkinson As I have done with IL-2 BoS, I am starting a flight tutorial series for Flying Circus. One the basic How to Fly stuff is out of the way, in a month or two, I would like to start creating mutliplayer videos. I am horrified to see that there are only three or four WW1 FC servers up, and worse maybe 8-10 players active worldwide! What a shame for a series with such potential. The purpose of this post is to try to develop a rapport with the existing leaders of WW1 FC squadrons and moving forward to help to build a larger player base which will benefit us all. I am in touch with WWCramer in this regard. I am also working with 1CGS to try to get them to be more involved in the MP environment in the general Great Battles series. They have now an official EU 1CGS server, and are actively supporting the Wings of Liberty server (though exactly HOW I am not clear). Anyway, the most fun we have for our immersive IL-2 experience is through Finnish, combat box or TAW and I would love to see that level of interest and commitment in the building up of an existing FC server. There's so much talent out there we just need to harness and direct it. Let me know if you are interested, or put me in touch with outher sqn leaders - I know only the three of you !- and we'll get a group of heads together and see what transpires. Cheers, Col Ninny https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/163-col-ninnys-how-to-fly-tutorials-for-new-and-advanced-players/ 1

What a shame for a series with such potential I hope that the release of FCII will make more people come online again. I haven't flown FC much myself lately 'cause I'm also in the WWII content and work but I'm still around. Have a nice day.

Cheers, Col Ninny https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/163-col-ninnys-how-to-fly-tutorials-for-new-and-advanced-players/ Your tutorials are great and appreciated. I'll begin to link them in the New Player FAQ thread and elsewhere. As a community we've intentionally focused on flying on one main server that has a lot of great features and that reflects a lot of community feedback over the years. By consolidating ourselves in fewer servers, we get more players and build up more activity rather than "Balkanizing" ourselves between several servers. The sense has been that its better to have 20 players in one server for several hours than have more servers with only 5 or 10 for 30 minutes. Since you are newer to the community, you probably don't yet know about when the regular busy flying times are (GMT/UTC is listed so convert to your own time zone) Daily between 1900-2200 GMT Sundays 1800 - 2200 GMT (80-100 players) by far the largest weekly event There are also specialized events such as the Flight Club ladder dogfight league and others on other weeknights North American @ 1800 MST. There is also a community run International Flight Academy (IFA) specializing in Flying Circus training for both Entente and Central Flyers. There are also some multi-week campaigns run a few times a year drawing over 100 players regularly. We are on our 13th year hosting those. The best way to get connected to the community besides this forum is through the Flugpark discord server. There are automatic notices to the major activities that push through if players subscribe to the server as well as comms available for those wanting to connect for advice or wingmen or to get involved in more serious training through the IFA. The link below takes you to the community server parser, which is useful also. Just click the "Join Server" button under the Discord Server widget partway down the page.http://flugpark.org/en/info/ 1
=OPFR=ColNinny Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Newe to the WW1 community I am. Thank you for the positive feedback. The Basic Flight training vids for FC are complet: 13 to date, so I will be soon looking at the MP world and seeking feedback from all you expert aviators! Today, I am trying to showing new players how to find and access a FC disord on an active server... and failing miserably! How would a new player locate the right invite to the flugpark discord? the descripted links seem invalid: Flugpark Discord: https://discord.gg/h8MRmyN Although the mission description would be the most logical place to present it. Thx,
