Leftenant_Soap Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I'm in the middle of a career with the 487th FS and the date is 1/1/1945. The mission for the day is a scramble (as anticipated), but I'm not part of the flight. Is there any way to get the mission generator to reroll the sortie until I'm chosen to take part? Unfortunately I'm not CO or I would change it myself.
I./JG52_Woutwocampe Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 (edited) Im not sure, maybe edit the db to return to the previous day then click NEXT DAY will generate a new mission. But no INGAME option exists to reroll. So you will end up clicking proceed and have a look at the totally unrealistic mission results : a successfull scramble mission with only one random german heavy bomber destroyed, 3 pilots out of 8 will be injured but their aircrafs undamaged. Enjoy! Edited January 12, 2023 by I./JG52_Woutwocampe 1
Leftenant_Soap Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 @I./JG52_Woutwocampe Thank you! Your advice was correct. I changed the date in cp.db to a couple of days prior and it prompted the game to generate new missions. However, there are some complications. I need to do more testing, then I'll write some instructions in the OP for anyone else that wants to try it out. And, I chuckled at your mission results. 1
KevPBur Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 You also can make yourself CO if you are happy editting the db. That way you can edit the personel, fuel and weapon loadout for each plane in a flight as well as edit the flight itself. I am finding adjusting the cruise speeds up a little really seems to help with the ai getting into formation flying VVS over Stallingrad. Edit the pilot table so you are the only pilot with a 1 for state in your Squadron to be the CO. I think state 8 is second in command
Leftenant_Soap Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 @KevPBur Absolutely right Kev. There are some other pilot table states that are less important but I was curious to find out how the game works. 0 = Member 1 = Commander 2 = KIA 3 = MIA (captured) 5 = Transferred out 8 = Deputy commander Making yourself CO when you create the career is really the best bet. For what it's worth I did manage to fiddle with the db until I got the mission I wanted, but I paid for it in the end because the career got corrupted after that. So I'm figuring out if there is any way to mess with the db without causing all sorts of problems down the line.
KevPBur Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 I try to stick to just keeping me as CO. It is annoying when you get injured for 2 days come back and some upstart with 2 flying hours has your job so he gets sent back down the ranks, I don't care who his daddy knows ? I have managed to bring myself back from the dead or escape capture successfully but messing with time itself does tends to things messing up sooner or later. I had wondered whether increasing squadron members kills and rank might increase their skill level and make them a bit more useful in a dogfight. 1
