Just need 2 small tidbits of info

So I've followed a video.

Made some planes.

 

I just need to know the button combo to link the planes to the leader.

 

Also need the button combo to put down waypoints.

I assume it's L-shift pluss another button

Your assumption is incorrect. I think you need to watch another video.

 

To link the following planes to the leader, right click, Selected Object Menu, Add target. You would need to do that in the order they will be in the flight.

 

For waypoints, you will need to go to the MCU list and select Trigger Waypoint. Add one of those, and then object link it to the lead plane. Then you will need to trigger the waypoint to activate it. Also you will need to open the advanced properties of all of those objects and MCUs and specify things like nationality, altitude, speed, etc.

 

Hopefully you weren't planning on asking for every mouse click to make a mission. Welcome to the ME, there is a steep curve at the beginning.
