The skyroads of Normandy (C-47)

Timeframe: June-July 1944

Missions: 9

Requirements: C47 and Normandy

 

About: Missions are set around the Normandy landings and the battles that occurred after. Some of the missions requires you to cross the channel, but you wil always get a mission complete at a time that makes the ride back across the channel optional!

Some of the missions make use of @Jade_Monkey effort to populate the Normandy map. Thx for the great work!

Hello, after I had some more practise with the editor I went back and upgraded all the missions. They shoud be better optimized, but also more details and stuff going on. Found and got rid of some bugs as wel.

ive been enjoying it. Just finished up mission two. I think. I had to go by the dates but they appeared in the wrong order in my folder.

Very happy to hear you enjoy it!  That shoud be mission two from the picture. Did you put it in the campagin folder? Then they shoud apear in the right order ?

Im working on making some more missions to this campaign. ?

The new missions are going to be shorter and more action filled. (But it is still a c47 campaign so not like a fighter campaign) 

Do anyone know if small groups of paratroopers like special forces where used during the war, or was it only used in big groups like on d-day?

The campaign is now updated with some more missions!

Sandmarken, thx again for this campaign which is true to your style, which I appreciate. It piqued my interest in the C-47, so that I've now started a Skytrain-Normandy career.

Probably the ideal mix of A-6s and A-8s is to set them to about a 1:7 ratio for the Normandy time frame. I./JG 26 had 9 A-6s on hand at the beginning of April 1944 (so about 2 per staffel), but by the beginning of August, it was down to just 2. In II./JG 26 the numbers were similar in April, but by the end of July, they were all gone.
